Last season, it looked like Nashville might be cancelled but ABC decided to renew the show instead. Will the ratings rise in season two so its future is assured or will the numbers drop so it cancelled this time? We’ll have to wait and see.
The Nashville TV show revolves around a rising country star (Hayden Panettiere) and a legendary superstar (Connie Britton) whose fame is fading. Others in the cast are Charles Esten, Eric Close, Clare Bowen, Sam Palladio, Jonathan Jackson, Chris Carmack, Lennon Stella, and Maisy Stella.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
5/10 update: Nashville has been renewed for a third season of 22 episodes by ABC.
Final season averages: 1.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 5.34 million total viewers.

For comparisons: The first season of Nashville averaged a 1.9 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 5.94 million total viewers.
Note: Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.

Love the show!!!! Please don’t cancel it.
Don’t cancel the show!!!! It’s my favorite!!!!!
At this point, I’d say the musical quality of the show is better than the overall story plot. Too much going back and forth between the characters. Plus they’ve re-used story plots from Season 1, such as Rayna and Deacon’s on and off relationship (the same can be said for Avery and Scarlett). Not to mention the fact that they absolutely DESTROYED the character of Scarlett O’Connor by turning her into a drug addicted loser whose vulnerability got the best of her and now no longer trusts anyone. Oh and Michelle Obama? Seriously? What show HASN’T she been on lately?… Read more »
