The Powells may have super powers but they weren’t strong enough to save their TV series. No Ordinary Family has been cancelled after one season on the air.
No Ordinary Family revolves around suburban family who, while on vacation, crash into Amazon River and gain special abilities. The cast includes Michael Chiklis, Julie Benz, Autumn Reeser, Jimmy Bennett, Kay Panabaker, Tate Donovan, Christina Chang, and Romany Malco.
The drama had a decent debut last September with a 3.2 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 10.69 million total viewers. Unfortunately, the ratings didn’t stay at that level and dropped by 16% in week two and then 15% in week three. The numbers kept declining and went as low as a 1.2 demo rating and just 4.26 million viewers in March.

The network cut the episode order but it was already clear by that point that the show was finished. ABC pre-empted one installment and bumped the penultimate episode to Saturday nights, an evening when few are watching. The first season of No Ordinary Family ended up averaging a 1.8 in the demo and 6.4 million viewers, making it one of the lowest dramas of the ABC season.
ABC has now officially cancelled No Ordinary Family. All 20 episodes have aired. Hopefully, at some point, the producers will share what they had planned for the future of the series.

Please bring the series back! I want to see what happens when all those people got there power and JIM too! I want to see what abilities he got! DAMN IT ABC!!! If you don’t bring it back we’re gonna “boycott” ABC and change to another station!!!

Why would they stop this show?! Im so disappointed. They really could have kept going. They have so much to build onto for the next season! im really confused on how it dropped viewers and ratings so rapidly.. it was fantastic! PLEASE BRING IT BACK!
I really like this show. Its everyday average people just like in the world we live in. They can be something better something amazing more than what we thought. Then at the end everybody else get super powers that was on the plane after it crashes, and his best friend has abilities now and he wasnt even trying to be on the plane. I just finished all of season 1 every night while the kids are asleep I watch it!! Only thing I could understand and know what’s happening I don’t like them sort of movies but this one is driving me crazy not having a season 2!!!! I literally just stayed up til 3:40am just to finish the last 4 episodes!!! BRING THE TV SHOW BACK!
Absolute **** it was a fantastic show i have watched all 20 episodes multiple times!! its been almost 6 years since it was “cancelled” but is such a good show, please bring it back 🙂
The show was “Great”… Definitely should have season 2 and so on. The show is very promising. It doesn’t have the normal superhero story that’s why I like it. Because it focuses on the normal side of life. Having a “superpower” but still having their normal family life. Which actually happens in real life in essence. I hope this show continues…
There should be a season 2 !!!the show has left me in suspense and disappointment because I will never know what will happen to the Powells….season 2 should come out because there are persons who actually enjoyed this series.
I really wished there was a season 2 because I enjoyed this show. It seriously was a very good show and I guess it was all just timing that viewers had to decline. The good part is just beginning and it would be a shame to not continue the show… Still praying and hoping for season 2 🙂
I think the reason it started losing viewers is because show after show it continued to leave all mysteries unanswered and the whole family was reluctant to use their powers and reveal them to each other. That’s ridiculous. They should have developed the characters more quickly. People and I wanted a family of superheroes. Finally by the end of the season they were working as a team questions were answered there was more and better super power action. Just when it was really getting good you pulled the plug. this is to whoever is out there making this show. a lot of people are enjoying this series (including me) and y’all are disappointing everyone. 97% of 5,000 viewers love this show and want a second season. all y’all are doing is just losing people by not doing what they want. if you want more people to like your show and rate it and stuff then I would suggest you to keep on going with this tv series. it’s kinda annoying when you like a show and you can’t even watch more of it. – Kendall Pearson
