The Powells may have super powers but they weren’t strong enough to save their TV series. No Ordinary Family has been cancelled after one season on the air.
No Ordinary Family revolves around suburban family who, while on vacation, crash into Amazon River and gain special abilities. The cast includes Michael Chiklis, Julie Benz, Autumn Reeser, Jimmy Bennett, Kay Panabaker, Tate Donovan, Christina Chang, and Romany Malco.
The drama had a decent debut last September with a 3.2 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 10.69 million total viewers. Unfortunately, the ratings didn’t stay at that level and dropped by 16% in week two and then 15% in week three. The numbers kept declining and went as low as a 1.2 demo rating and just 4.26 million viewers in March.

The network cut the episode order but it was already clear by that point that the show was finished. ABC pre-empted one installment and bumped the penultimate episode to Saturday nights, an evening when few are watching. The first season of No Ordinary Family ended up averaging a 1.8 in the demo and 6.4 million viewers, making it one of the lowest dramas of the ABC season.
ABC has now officially cancelled No Ordinary Family. All 20 episodes have aired. Hopefully, at some point, the producers will share what they had planned for the future of the series.

Retarded. I really like that show. At times, it did seem like they resolved conflict a little too quickly (like when Joshua took Daphne’s memory), but ABC needs to just change up some of the writers. The backstory and characters were great!
I had to watch NOF every week. I love the characters and hate to see if cancelled. I would love to have it come back.
I say start a petition to get this show back. I can’t believe it’s cancelled I was really looking forward to season 2.
WHAT?? Are you kidding? I heard about NOF at work. So many were talking about it that I started to feel left out. We work nights and many recorded the show on their TIVO or watched it online. I HAD to watch at least one episode, which I did. I got hooked on it! I LOVED IT!! PLEASE, bring it back. Many of us have to work nights and/or weekends. CHANGE the way TV Show Ratings are done!! This is a NEW era and MOST of us have to work, sometimes more than one job.
My family watched on iPad, every week!!!! my kids love it.

This was also one of my favorite shows! I didn’t always have time to watch it but I did record it. Really wish ABC had given it another season.
The problem with this show is it was a slow story to get going, a few of the early shows (eps 3 to perhaps 6) were a bit boring BUT soon after it turned into an awesome show once the conspiracy with Dr. King and the ‘evil’ supers, Joshua et all this show became very gripping.
Now with how season 1 ended you know season 2 would have been awesome and had ABC given season 1 a second running it could of perhaps brought a new fanbase but alas it might not happen, sadly 🙁

This is one of the best American shows since Friends ended. ABC have to at least tie up the loose ends with a second series.
Best show… i even downloaded because i wanted to see them so bad and was bragging how much i couldnt wait for season 2 and beyond. if they dont wont to put on tv then put on internet just keep doing them. i love them!!!
Bring the show back! I watched it on Hulu religiously…have it in my que. Stop relying on whatever t.v. ratings. Watching shows has evolved and you, ABC, have got to get better at seeing how your shows are rated.

The backstory was great, compelling and relevant: a family on verge of divorce comes together on the strength of traditional pillars: do the right thing, and help everyone be the best they can be.

I guess it’s the way of things these days. If it isn’t a cheap reality show, it gets cancelled. I’ve just watched the season finale (here in the UK) and it’s disappointing to know there’ll be no season 2. It was a really excellent series. Still, maybe we’ll get a cooking show!!!
