ABC has not yet announced if it will cancel or renew the Notorious TV show for a second season, but we want to know what you want them to do. Back in October, ABC cut the Notorious season one order from 13 episodes to ten. Still, as previously reported, there is still a (slim) chance for the drama. ABC is paying to keep the Notorious sets, rather than striking them.
Starring Daniel Sunjata and Piper Perabo, Notorious follows the symbiotic relationship between a charismatic defense attorney and a powerhouse TV producer, as they attempt to control the media, the justice system, and each other. Kate Jennings Grant, Aimee Teegarden, J. August Richards, Sepideh Moafi, Ryan Guzman, and Kevin Zegers also star.
When the news broke that ABC was reducing the Notorious season one order from 13 to ten, we took a look at the freshman drama’s ratings. As of episode 1.05 on October 20th, Notorious was averaging a 0.96 in the 18-49 year old viewer demographic and had an average total audience of 4.378 million viewers.
We have been tracking the ratings for 19 scripted ABC series in the 2016-17 television season. Back in October, when sorted by the demo, Notorious placed 14th, among ABC shows. It only rose to 13th place, when sorted by average total audience size. Has anything changed? Is the series doing better or worse in the ratings, since the network reduced its order?
Notorious Season One Ratings Averages | ABC
The first season finale aired on December 8th, so now we have a full season to analyze. Notorious, season one, finished up with a 0.86 average in the 18-49 year old viewer demo. By the finale, it ended up with an average total audience of 3.972 million viewers.
Similarly, Notorious is now in the 15th spot (out of 19), when we sort ABC shows by their ratings in the demo and ranks 14th, when sorted by average total audience.
Since October, the show’s average ratings have grown worse. Notorious has dropped down o.10 points in the demo and lost more than 400,000 viewers. Additionally, the series now ranks one slot lower among ABC TV shows, when sorted by both its demo average and average total viewers.
In conclusion, while ABC could still renew Notorious for season two, don’t bet your Christmas bonus on it. Still, we’d like to hear what you’d like to happen.
What do you think? Have you watched the first season of the Notorious TV series? Should ABC cancel or renew Notorious for a second season? Finally, please tell us the reasons for your vote, in the comments.

I watched the show every week and loved it. I was hoping it would be renewed. It was a clean story line that a family could watch. Please bring it back!!
Love this show! Definitely renew it!
Absolutely loved loved loved this show. The writing was great, the story lines were great and the actors awesome(especially Sunjata). This show should not have been cancelled. In my opinion ABC did not give this show a fair chance to prove itself. Please, please, please reconsider this decision. If ABC won’t bring it back please someone else pick it up and carry it on and on and on.
Looked forward to watching notorious every week. Couldnt get enough of it. Love the characters and the chemistry. Please keep it going.
I don’t care what the reviewers say or what the ratings show — this is a smart, funny, sexy show. It absolutely fits in the Shonda Rhimes block. Piper Perabo and Daniel Sunjata have fantastic chemistry and their characters have an amazing friendship. I find myself, on the one hand, glad to see that male-female friendship and professional relationships without sex are portrayed positively, and on the other hand, wanting them to just hook up! That tension makes for great television! And as I watch the way the lawyer (Sunjata) and tv producer (Perabo) outwit their opponents and sway public… Read more »
I hope this show continues. Please do not cancel it. Give it a chance. It has a great story line. Interesting and strong characters.
This show has the potential of a “Hart to Hart” or “Moonlighting” run! Love It!
