Word has come down that, after a less-than-impressive sophomore year in the ratings, ABC has decided to cancel October Road.
The news has been suspected for some time and was cinched by the network’s interest in the U.S. version of Life on Mars. Boston Legal’s creator, David E. Kelley, owns the rights to do a Mars series in the states. He had been committed to write and executive produce the series for ABC but recently decided to bow out. As a result, ABC execs have been hot to sign Road creators Josh Appelbaum, Andre Nemec, and Scott Rosenberg to the new series. They’ve now closed the deal and sealed Road’s fate.
ABC had attempted to find another home for Road but were unsuccessful in finding a buyer.
All 19 produced episodes of October Road have aired. The series finale aired on March 10th but unfortunately didn’t offer viewers any closure. Will we ever know the identity of Sam’s father? Stay tuned! 
I cant believe that this show has been canceled there goes another family show that was good. there is nothing on t.v. to watch except for stupid reality shows and I hate theme so I guess I will be renting DVD’s for now on.
I want October Road to come back! I am 61 years old and loved this series. Please bring it back Please please please!
I agree about October Road! This is an amazing show and we are left with no closure. It seems as though they do this alot…a good, no great, no amazing, no fabulous show comes on and they take it away. Please bring us just 6 more episodes to prove that the ratings will skyrocket! Long Live October Road!

Who is doing the canceling? If your not listening to the viewers then shut down the whole network.. It’s like telling a joke with no punch – line. They left us all hanging after we bonded with the charactors and people were talking everywhere about the show, anxious to see the next episode, Poof! gone, and no news flash for all the loyal viewers. What a shame.. Get out of the business if you can’t stick it out who ever makes the rules here really stinks.
This was a great show with a fantastic cast.
I love Bryan Greenberg in October Road! I love October Road, it really is the best show out there in my opinion. How can they end it like that? I mean there are so many unanswered questions. I need to find out what happens to the characters of Knights Ridge. Pleas bring back October Road!
I’m absolutely gutted. Season two set up so many new story lines for the characters of Knight’s Ridge, and offered no closure whatsoever. I really hope this show gets picked up somewhere else, because I want to know who Sam’s father is, and I want Hannah-Jane realise Big Cat is actually a bad guy!!!
This is a huge dissapointment 🙁 ABC has made a big mistake by cancelling October Road! I am so tired of ABC drawing in their fans with quality shows which only end up being canceled, without even giving the show a chance (and for crappy shows like that RIDICULOUS caveman show – give me a break!!). They have proven, time and time again, that their network is so out of touch with what viewers really want to see. I can’t beleive they would cancel october road come on abc this just reinds me of the time they cancelled george lopez for the caveman show which nobody wanted to see iI was reaally evengetting more into october road it had gotten better than desperate hoisewives and grays anatomy too bad big mistake I am so annoyed!!!
I can not believe that they are canceling October Road. All my friends are mad at me now since I got them into watching the show and now they are ending it. I have seen all the episodes since it began. It is another disappointment from ABC.

I love October Road! This show is one of the best shows out there! I love everything about this show. The season 2 finale left so much unanswered, we need to see what goes on in Knights Ridge! Bring back October Road!

Why cancel it, because you want the creators for another show? Now really do you think we’re going to watch life on Mars? Really? I would much rather sit back and watch the characters play out their drama on October Road. They really had me hooked in. I got the news last night that October Road will not be returning, I was shocked and could not believe it, I really think that who ever made this decision has made a huge mistake, October Road, is a really good show, and I know that my friends and i could not wait until the return, now we will never know who Sam’s real father is, we will never know what will happen between Janet and Eddie , If Nick and Hannah get back together, and What to Nicks Dad, this is just wrong, please bring this show back, I… Read more »
