It’s all over but the bleeding. Executive producer Julie Plec has announced The Originals TV show will end with season five on The CW. Writer Carina MacKenzie recently confirmed there will be 13 episodes in what we now know to be the fifth and final season. “Many shows are not lucky enough to have a hand in deciding when the end has come…. Ending a show is always bittersweet, but for me, it’s a true blessing to be a part of making that choice,” Plec wrote.
A spin-off of The Vampire Diaries, which ended its eight season run earlier this year, The Originals is a supernatural drama following the Mikaelson family. They’re the world’s original vampires and are trying to reclaim New Orleans. The CW cast includes Joseph Morgan, Daniel Gillies, Phoebe Tonkin, Charles Michael Davis, Yusuf Gatewood, and Riley Voelkel.

Really sad that The Originals are ending since it is my favorite show. The last real Vampire series. Everyone wants superheroes now. This show was never given the credit it deserved nor were the actors especially JM & DG, though the rest of the cast deserves kudos also. I hope for once we get a happy ending for Klaus & Elijah. I didn’t like the way TVD ended or what they did with other series finales. Bring back Always & forever.
Not Happy love this show! Everyone keeps cancelling tv series. I’m watching nexfli originals tv series more than anything lately. You don’t even give the shows a chance. So I’m thinking why start watching new ones because they’ll just be cancelled plus they’re in no comparison….

This is a travesty . How can a show with an average 8.3 rating on IMDB get cancelled ? This is higher than every other CW show . It’s has a really great cast too with Joseph, Daniel and phoebe they are immense though Daniel seems to play himself haha. I do not know anybody who does not love the show the quality is way better than supernatural and legends . This show is the best and I really think of season 5 is all we will get them at least give fans a spin off show there are still so many stories to be told and played out please consider one of the 2 !

That is a terrible decision. Having the CW AS the only network was worse. You forget Canada watches all your stations that are picked up without having to stream. CW is one of the many stations we can’t just get in cable. Share it up. Put it back on CBS OR ABC OR HBO!!!! C’MON!

Please don’t end the show. It’s breaking my heart. I loved the Vampire Diaries and now it’s gone. Now the Originals.. There is no other show like it. It’s sexy, romantic. It was on my bucket list to visit theset & meet the cast.

I hope that Dahlia will come back and team up with her Sister, Niece Freya, Davina, and the last Bennett Witch Bonnie, to channel all the power from the Ancestors to give to Hope so she can consume the power of the Hollow. It would also be totally awesome if she had all the strength and traits of the Vampire and Warewolf.

after what the writers did to KLAUS AT, THE END OF SEASON 3, not surprise.!! i will say the first 2 seasons, were great, i binge watch the first 2.!! hard to find good writers.!! THE STRAIN IS, THE BEST SHOW OUT.!! SAD THIS IS THE LAST SEASON, OF THE STRAIN.!!??
I’m sad but also happy because to show will have closure. It was an epic journey from The Vampire Diaries to The Originals. A cascade of emotions. I went from hatred to admiration for Klaus. It is one of the most complex characters of television’s. He’s decisions always surprise you but always do everything he can to save his family (in its way).
You are right. It was a complex character he played. He had a hard as rocks side and a soft side.
This will be a bittersweet moment for me. I love my Originals and really don’t know what I am going to do without them. At least I have another season to see all of my great ones one last time. Niklaus, Elijah and my Hope (who will be all grown up) Rebecca, Marcel and all the rest of the clan I thank you for making my life so much more enjoyable by watching you and I thank you for all the memories. I love you all!
