It’s all over but the bleeding. Executive producer Julie Plec has announced The Originals TV show will end with season five on The CW. Writer Carina MacKenzie recently confirmed there will be 13 episodes in what we now know to be the fifth and final season. “Many shows are not lucky enough to have a hand in deciding when the end has come…. Ending a show is always bittersweet, but for me, it’s a true blessing to be a part of making that choice,” Plec wrote.
A spin-off of The Vampire Diaries, which ended its eight season run earlier this year, The Originals is a supernatural drama following the Mikaelson family. They’re the world’s original vampires and are trying to reclaim New Orleans. The CW cast includes Joseph Morgan, Daniel Gillies, Phoebe Tonkin, Charles Michael Davis, Yusuf Gatewood, and Riley Voelkel.

The Originals: A Look at the Ratings
The fourth season of The Originals averaged a 0.32 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 940,000 viewers. Compared to season three, it was down by 15% and up by 1%, respectively. Find out how The Originals stacks up against the other CW TV shows.

All the good shows with some originality, like this one, gets cancelled. Usually replaced with reality tv that no one cares about. I’m just going to stop trying to find something to watch, only to have it cancelled OR be months upon months before a new one comes on (and you wander why ratings drop). I’ll just stick with Netflix, which is becoming so popular because of these issues.

I am a 61 year old Mom ,grandmother and great grandmother. I have enjoyed the “Originals ” since the premiere of the series. I am very sad that shows I truly enjoy and watch each and every episode is being canceled. I am retired and I watch favorite programs . The CW has great and entertaining shows and actors. This is the sad part they keep saying season 5 which its not they just don’t want everyone getting upset to late for that . Season 4 had 13 episodes so they think we’re not going to know this please call what it is two Damm lazy to give us our 20 episodes for our season 4 an 5. Just like The Vampire diarires I was so upset gave us 13 episodes. I been watching that show for 8 years so yes they cheated us out of our episodes shame on them.
They keep making all these shows I get all in two them. There’s two many two write but here’s a few. Star crossed if you have Netflix check it out. Also The tomorrow people its also on Netflix. Thank god for Netflix for real. Another good one Zoo also on Netflix. Maybe it’s just me but I don’t care for iZombie, and Jane the Virgin, Super girl. I want my Originals. I absolutely want MORE of “The Originals!”
Please bring it back for a sixth season. The show was very good and finely acted. It did become kind of confusing the last two seasons, but fix it and you will find new viewers. Advertise it. A lot of people do not even know of the CW. It deserves to go on and gather more viewers.
I do not want to end this series !!!!!!!!!!!! After the Vampire diaries is over, I did not return to the whole month just when I did not want to go over The Original and then my life regained meaning !!!!! TV series such as The Originals will always have their ups and downs in ratings but the show still has much to offer and should be renewed!
