Are you a fan of Outsiders? WGN America just cancelled the TV series after two seasons. What do you think? Do you think it should have been renewed? Would you watch a third season on another channel?
Airing on Tuesday nights, the Outsiders drama follows the Farrell clan, a tight-knit family who reside in the rugged hills of Appalachia and come into conflict with the surrounding population. The cast includes David Morse, Thomas M. Wright, Ryan Hurst, Joe Anderson, Gillian Alexy, Kyle Gallner, Christina Jackson, Francie Swift, and Phyllis Somerville.
Ratings have never been great for Outsiders, but it’s been one of the highest-rated original scripted shows on WGN America. Currently, season two is averaging a 0.21 rating in the 18-49 demo and 780,000 viewers — down by 26% in the demo when compared to the first season. Now, it seems that the upcoming season two finale, scheduled for April 25th, will also serve as the series finale.
Or, will it? Sony Pictures Television is reportedly shopping a third season of Outsiders to other outlets. The show’s ratings wouldn’t seem to be a strong selling point but, these days, you never know.

My husband & I binged watched both seasons on Hulu. It’s the only show we’ve ever binged like this! I was so sad it was cancelled & hoping it will get picked up by Netflix or any streaming service. It’s such a rich, interesting & important storyline & a stellar cast so there are so many directions it can go for seasons to come. It’s also not quite like anything else on tv in a world full of shallow & copycat programming which makes it all the more a shame that it was cancelled by WGN. Hoping it gets the… Read more »

Yes, they’re many stories yet to tell. A suicide that was a murder to be tried, a birth to witness, an explanation as to what happened to Asa, joe Anderson, and impact of the final flooding of the town. I loved this show and I believe that those who watched Sons of Anarchy are also supporters of continued seasons.
Tuesday night was the highlight of the week for us as Outsiders is the best TV Series out. So much unpredictable moments & action, just unbelievably good! Have not found anyone who who does not want it to be aired on another channel. Such a awesome show Please bring back on any channel to make it available again.

Please renew Outsiders. We watch it faithfully every week and it is one of our favorite shows. It’s also the only show we watch on WGN.
