Unfortunately, Parenthood has never been a hit TV show in the ratings. Fortunately, the numbers have been good enough to keep it from being cancelled each year. Will the Braverman family’s luck hold out? Time will tell.
An ensemble family drama, the cast includes Bonnie Bedelia, Craig T. Nelson, Dax Shepard, Erika Christensen, Joy Bryant, Lauren Graham, Mae Whitman, Max Burkholder, Miles Heizer, Monica Potter, Peter Krause, Sam Jaeger, Sarah Ramos, Savannah Paige Rae, and Tyree Brown.
Season four of Parenthood typically airs on Tuesdays nights at 10pm on the NBC network. They’ve ordered 15 episodes.
These are the TV show’s ratings for the 2012-13 season, the best way to tell if Parenthood is going to be cancelled or renewed for season five.

It wasn’t a great start of the season. Though Parenthood won its timeslot (opposite reruns), it was down year-to-year by 14% in the coveted demo (vs a 2.2 rating) and down by 13% in total viewers (vs 6.29 million). This isn’t a big surprise however since each season opener has been lower than the one before it.
Reference point: The 2011-12 season of Parenthood averaged a 1.9 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 5.13 million viewers.
Note: These ratings are collected by the Nielsen company and are the final national numbers. These are different from the fast affiliate numbers which are just estimates of the actual ratings and are reported by most other outlets. The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.

Parenthood is one of the few tv shows I watch every week. One of the best shows on tv. Why is this family show on so late? Many other shows that air earlier in the evening are most definately NOT family shows, and I cannoth understand why the network would choose to put this sohw in the time slot it is in. Put it on earlier and see the ratings boost!
I need to see this show return. No guns, violence, blood or grotesque scenes, just quality acting and true to life storylines. I cannot imagine why NBC wouldn’t pick this up for another season. My friends all love it. We discuss it every Wednesday. It has something for everyone. Not to mention fantastic acting. However, it is the quality writing that keeps me tuned in. I vote “ABSOLUTELY” keep this.
PARENTHOOD is my all time favorite show. The cast is outstanding. The weekly stories are so will done and they are so real to everyday life. I am always so happy when Tues. night rolls around and I can watch another one of these wonderful stories. This is a awesome show and so very very worth watching. Please keep it on the air!!!
Such a refreshing show, however I believe the problem is possibly viewers are watching via online, streaming, after it has actually aired. The network should not cancel this show. I truly enjoy it.
I have been patiently waiting for the show to “come back”. Really excellent.
I have patiently been waiting for this show to “come back”. One of my very favorites. !!!
this is the best show ever! 100% differences from all the crap of shows that are on. it is disgusting the behavior on all those crap of shows, that youth from now see as acceptable as if its normal to get drunk, vomiting ,showing their ******’s and ***** in public ,babies having babies and becoming famous for it,insulting , beating homeless as a way to get rating, etc… the world I know has never been perfect but with those no good shows its getting farther and more farther from at least getting better. we need to help youth to be our… Read more »
I think Parenthood is the best show on TV. Please don’t cancel!
Please keep Parenthood on the air. An earlier time slot would yield more viewers.
Parenthood is my favorite show. It’s great and I sure hope it will be renewed.
This show is such a breath of fresh air. After all of the mindless reality, bachelor, talent shows out there on prime time it’s great to have a grown up show for thirty and forty something’s with real story lines!
The writing is brilliant and the actors are amazing! there are not many family shows out there that can relate to the every day dramas and comedy family brings. I will be extremely disappointed if Parenthood is not picked up. I look forward to tuning in every week to watch The Braverman clan and their family stories.
It would be such a shame to cancel this show. It’s fantastic. The writing is amazing and it’s so much better than so much of the crap out there. I watched all four seasons over the last few months and I would be so sad to not have 4 more to watch. The bravermans are a family worth watching!
Pleaseeee do NOT Cancel this show. I was instantly hooked. The cast of characters, so charismatic, the heartwarming moments of.. what a family means to each other, is inspiring. I am so disenchanted with endless “reality” shows, this show truly brings its audience base back to a time we can relate too, and a future to strive for.
Please bring this show back. I was looking forward to seeing this show, I don’t have too much time for watchng TV but I made time to see this one. Thank You
Please please bring the show back for season 5 and beyond. My favorite show! I love all the characters and don’t think I’ve cried as much over a story line before. So real, so wonderful.
