TV show description:
This TV show revolves around Doctor Daniel Pierce (Eric McCormack), an eccentric and brilliant neuroscience professor. Unfortunately, his mind is also damaged and he suffers from paranoid schizophrenia.
Pierce struggles with hallucinations and paranoid delusions brought on by his schizophrenia. Oddly though, he considers some of his hallucinations to be a gift. They occasionally allow him to make connections that his conscious mind can’t yet process. At other times, the hallucinations become Pierce’s greatest curse, leading him to behave in irrational, potentially dangerous ways.
Still, he’s recruited by FBI agent Kate Moretti (Rachael Leigh Cook) to help solve complex cases. Pierce has an intimate knowledge of human behavior and a masterful understanding of the way the mind works. He also has an uncanny ability to see patterns and can look past people’s conscious emotions to see what lies beneath. Kate is Pierce’s former student and, unlike her colleagues, she’s willing to look past his peculiarities.
Pierce’s mental condition and offbeat manner make it difficult for him to achieve the close friendships and intimate relationships he craves.
Those close to him include Max Lewicki (Arjay Smith), his teaching assistant. Max’s primary job is to keep Pierce in line and on task, whether that means grading midterms or laying out his boss’ wardrobe for the day. Natalie Vincent (Kelly Rowan) is Pierce’s best friend and every bit his intellectual equal. Paul Haley (LeVar Burton) is the dean at Pierce’s university and one of his few friends.
Pierce is in his element when solving an intricate puzzle or a coded message. But in unfamiliar situations, he can quickly become overwhelmed, and only his favorite music and a crossword puzzle have the power to make things right again.
Episode #39 — Run
When Moretti goes missing the day of her wedding, Pierce and Donnie set off in pursuit of the runaway bride. They soon learn that Kate has been abducted by a dangerous person from Pierce’s own past. Pierce and Donnie risk everything to save Moretti before it’s too late.
First aired: March 17, 2015
What do you think? Do you like the Perception TV series? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a fourth season?
I don’t understand it, either. This is a really nice show. Even kids can watch it. No sex scenes or cursing. What the heck is wrong with TNT? They’re cancelling too many good shows. I’m 70 years old & I really enjoy watching it! Guess I’m gonna have to boycott TNT! Too bad.
This show should not be cancelled. And why isn’t the show available in DVD?
the show is well written and the acting is superb.why is being cancelled??????this is a great show and it makes you THINK the plot out.Junk is left on the air and now my favorite show bites the dust.thanks for 39 great episodes
I was shocked that it was cancelled. I am so disappointed once again. Well, I guess like the others I will soon not have a reason to turn the tv set on. I hate the cancellation of this show and so many others through the years.
I don’t know why you are cancelling this show. It is great. The networks keep all the crap on and cancel shows like this. BooHoo
Very disappointing. So few good shows left. Pretty soon I won’t need cable at all.
I wish it were being renewed. It’s an interesting premise and good acting.
Why would you cancel this show? It’s a unique program with great actors. I don’t understand why networks can’t get it right. They cancel the good & keep the crap. Next TNT will start running nothing but reality shows like the other networks. Then therell be nothing left to watch on tv. Well all have to subscribe to the movie channels, Netflix or read books. A&E has already lost me as a viewer for this very reason. I guess it’s cheaper to pay idiots to make fools of themselves than to put on quality programming.
I love the show, the different plots, the cast,
so please don’t cancel it .
This channel just cannot keep it together. Nothing is consistent in programming and you have to hunt to find out when the show is going to be on or not. This was one of your better shows, it is just too bad.
And yet another great show is cancelled – Who makes these decisions?
This is one of my favorite shows. I was waiting for its return. Why does it seem that the networks cancel so much of their better programming. As someone else said, it is witty, intelligent, and has great casting with great chemistry. Please reconsider.
Please keep Perception. It is one of my favorite shows. It’s intelligent and witty. The characters work wonderfully together.
Please do not cancel this wonderful show. It is witty and bright and full of life! I don’t understand the thinking of the various networks. They keep stupid reality shows and get rid of ones that require some thinking.
Please, let’s keep it going. A very good, intelligent show
I couldn’t agree more, Margaret. The idiosy of the networks and their powers that be is beyond my comprehension. How they can continue to air, renew and promote the most pathetic reality shows, and then turn around and cancel a brilliantly written and acted show with substance and heart like PERCEPTION just shows what the networks think is the mentality of their viewers. There are so few decent shows any more, cancelling one of–if not THE BEST shows is a travesty. I tried to leave a comment on the TNT website, but could not find a place to do so.… Read more »
Please, this is one of the few intelligent programs that I can share enjoyment with teenage grandchildren. Don’t leave me to the mercy of werewolves and vampires. I love this show.
