Episode 01-02: Thursday, 9/29/11
Episode two came down 13% in the demo to a 2.7 rating and 12.51 million. It was fourth in its timeslot. The network was down by 13% year-to-year and this new series is currently ranking in the middle of the pack on CBS. If the ratings keep going down like this, it won’t take much for Person of Interest to be in the bottom tier and be in serious danger.
Season average: 2.9 demo with 12.92 million.
Episode 01-01: Thursday, 9/22/11
This new drama had some positive reviews but didn’t deliver particularly strong ratings. The first episode garnered a 3.1 in the 18-49 demographic and 13.33 million viewers. It was in fourth place for the timeslot. Year-to-year, aging CSI’s last season debut did 9% better in the demo and 10% better in total viewers.
Some commenters on this site indicated that they felt the pacing was very slow and that seems to match up with the quarter hour breakdowns. Person of Interest started with a 3.3 in the demo and finished with a 2.9 rating. While these numbers aren’t bad, they are hardly what CBS was hoping for.
Note: These ratings are collected by the Nielsen company and are the final national numbers. These are different from the fast affiliate numbers which are just estimates of the actual ratings and are reported on by most other outlets. The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.
What do you think? Do you like the new Person of Interest TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a second season?

Person of Interest is the smartest tv series today. I don’t normally follow tv shows but the storyline and good characters. Emerson and Reese complement each other well. Two men who may not have been friends in other circumstances. One thing I like the most is that not everything is revealed all at once. We learn more about the characters over time and over different story arcs.
Definitely this show deserves another season.
Great show; well written; fanstatic characters; excellent concepts.
Please don’t cancell it. We love so much
I absolutely love this show. I hope they don’t cancel it!
Luv the show! Plz renew cuz its really the only non reality show I enjoy watching other than csi…plus the main character is so easy on the eyes!
Best new show in YEARS …. the writting the acting the plots, finally something with a thought about the viewers interest
KEEP THIS SHOW-Best in years
iThere are too many shows on with similar names and themes, either lawyer or cop shows. The strange relationship between the characters in Person of Interest is a different twist and we love it.
Hope it comes back.
love this show ! It has action with suspense,, please keep it going !
Absolutely love Person of Interest… especially the evolving relationship between Finch and Reese and the little clues to who they are. Great acting! Great writing! Great action while maintaining an underlying story and theme. The only new show worth watching this season!
renew, please!
This show should definitely be renewed. While there is violence, it is much less graphic than most of the other shows on the air.
Love this show!!
We really LOVE this show! It’s intellegent, well written & well acted. We also noticed the lack of graphic violence, thank you!! This is one show that deserves to be renewed!
love the show should stay on. One of the greatest in a long time
