TV show description:
This crime drama follows a presumed dead former-CIA agent named John Reese (Jim Caviezel) who teams up with a mysterious billionaire, Mr. Finch (Michael Emerson), who’s also believed to be dead. Their goal is to prevent violent crimes by using technology and their own brand of vigilante justice.
Finch is a software genius who has invented a program that uses pattern recognition to identify people who are about to be involved in violent crimes — either the victim or the perpetrator. It was originally built for the government to prevent another 9/11 disaster but found that it was predicting less catastrophic, “irrelevant” crimes. Finch built a “backdoor” into the machine so that, before erasing the “irrelevant” data each night, Finch is sent the social security number of a person about to be involved in a serious crime.
Finch recruits Reese because of his special training in covert operations. Using their combined skills, resources and advanced surveillance technology, they work outside of the law to identify “persons of interest” and stop crimes before they occur.
Reese’s actions draw the attention of the NYPD — including homicide detectives Carter (Taraji P. Henson) and Fusco (Kevin Chapman). The latter is a corrupt cop and Reese blackmails him into being a source of information inside the department.
With infinite crimes to investigate, Reese and Finch find that locating the right person, with the right information, at the right time, can change everything.
Episode #103 — Return 0
Finch, Reese, Fusco and Shaw embark on one last mission to prevent Samaritan from destroying The Machine and cementing its hold over mankind.
First aired: June 21, 2016.
What do you think? Do you like the Person of Interest TV show? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a sixth season?

I love all the characters I really did miss carter but now i will miss Shaw, one tough chick.
Definitely should have been renewed. Very intelligent show, thought provoking. And as others have stated, enough of the inane reality shows.
i love the show, my favorite show on television since its debut, the ratings are still high so I don’t know why they would cancel it, I wish it would be renewed for another season, television has so many reality shows that are junk , and go on for too many seasons , this is a great show and very well written , I don’t understand the networks sometimes. you have something good stick with it , I wish another network would pick it up , maybe even Net- flix.
I agree with many of the sentiments expressed by others: smart, engrossing, intriguing. All great casting. I am so put off by the parade of mindless sit-coms, reality and clone-shows. It’s no wonder Trump is Republican choice. Look at the intellictual level of the programs that the industry renews to appeal to those cretins: Swamp People, Housewives of…, logger shows. Pretty soon, having brains and taste will be something we will have to keep secret (like being a racist red-neck used to be before Trump came to politics). The downward spirial.
Idiocracy should be aired on continuous loop until its message sinks in.
It’s unfortunate that POI has been cancelled. It had consistently high ratings so it obviously appeals to a large number of viewers. It is one of the best written and plotted shows currently on TV and doesn’t assume that the viewing audience has the IQ of turnips. . It is perfectly cast. So what is CBS going to replace POI with: more “Real Housewives of whatever”, another hospital show with tons of bed hopping? Even if another network were to pick up the show I am sure that the cast of POI has moved on to other projects.
I love this story line, is any other network going to pick it up. The story is incomplete.
Another favourite show bites the dust. Did the computers of the world unite and have the show removed?
POI is terrific and should be renewed. Art unfortunately imitates, or in this case, predicts life. The surveillance society and erosion of civil liberties could become a reality in the US. Samaritan appears to alive and well in China already.
The only limitation to continuing POI is the challenge of finding enough good writers to continue telling this complex story,
Hope POI is resurrected!
What better characters could you find for this show? This could be our future!
This is the best show on TV and best characters. Why would you want to cancel it??
Now another one of my favorite shows is gone…usually it’s TNT and USA that cancel my shows not CBS. We have two criminal mind shows now, three NCIs and god knows how many hospital shows that i don’t even watch because all they do is sleep with each other BORING….this show POI was different….it’s not a stupid comedy that the writing is silly…this show had purpose, excellent writing, GREAT actors…Carter wasn’t the only one….it was completely different from the others…always looked forward to watching…CBS you messed up this time…I am watching reruns on WGN and hope it comes back somewhere
It is one of my favourite shows. The writing was good the stories were interesting. The acting and action was very good. I know that shows come and go. And if the demand is not there I do not know the formula for that. But if it does end I do hope they end with grace. An Ending were they may carry it on forward or the same ending where we are satisfied with Really hate for this show to end.
Not sure what is taking so long, can’t wait for Season 5. Please do not cancel this show, well acted, well produced and well received.
This is a great show. Why does all the networks cancel the good shows and leave the crappy ones no one likes on?????? Not all of us fall into the Teenager category or are in there thirties! Some of us like a good keep you in suspense show like this one. Keep it going it has alot of loyal followers.
when will it come back on?
