I enjoy the show very much and, more importantly, feel that it has a great deal of potential. The cast itself is comprised of very lovely actors who are capable of producing chemistry (and in only 5 episodes..) that is very believeable to me, as a viewer and law student. It would be a shame to cast aside such a talented cast without giving the show potential to grow into the hit I feel it could be, with proper marketing, stronger writing, and a full season to let characters develop.
This show needs another shot on a more reasonable evening- Thursday is already packed with solid viewing options, it didn’t have much of a chance against them.
Everyone can relate to this show because everyone knows of someone like one of the characters. I always feel like I want to know more, when the show is done. No other show can really say that they have all that this one does. Please don’t cancel it just to put on something stupid. Please don’t cancel it at all.

I was extremely disappointed to hear that ABC was canceling The Deep End. This is a really great show, well written, funny and dramatic. Exactly what ABC needs to lead up to the Grey’s Anatomy/Private Practice evening. ABC has made some poor decisions in canceling some GREAT ensemble shows starting with Dirty Sexy Money last year. The network gives programs like Life on Mars or Eastwick – two HORRIBLE shows – nearly 4 months to perform and gain ratings.
The same is not said for a great show like The Deep End which had only a month to perform – and was pitted against the Olympics. I really hope the network reconsiders it’s cancellation especially since there are NO good dramedy’s at the 8 PM time slot on Thursday evenings.
Please reconsider the cancellation of this show. My friends and I have absolutely fallen in love with these characters after just a few episodes! I am a faithful fan of several of abc’s shows like Grey’s Anatomy, Private Practice, Desperate Housewives, and Brothers and Sisters, and in my opinion The Deep End is just as good as these shows, if not better, because of its unique plot. Yet it is different because it can present these stories in a lighthearted manner. Some of the other popular shows like the ones I mentioned earlier are getting a little dull because of its circular story lines, but my friends and coworkers find the wit and charm of The Deep End to be extremely refreshing and much needed on the abc network.
Please do not cancel this show. My family and I watch it every week without fail and believe that other shows on at the same time slot are on are the reason that The Deep End is not getting the ratings it should. But if you keep it going and give the show time to develop its stories and characters the already large fanbase is sure to grow even larger. I am sure this show can compete with the others with just a few more episodes because it is, without a doubt, the most enjoyable program on abc
