I am a fan of the Deep End. My whole family watches. It is funny and really entertaining. I am a lawyer and most certainly would not want to see a lawyer show that was “realistic”, as it would bore everyone to tears. The fun of television is escape and there is just enough reality to this show to make it attractive to lawyers and non-lawyers, but is unrealistic enough to make it good tv. I would hate to see this show cancelled when there are so many other shows that are far worse on all of the networks.
I was floored when I heard that Deep End was cancelled! It is one of the most refreshing and funny shows I have seen in a long time. As a lawyer, I always enjoy shows about the profession and this one filled a necessary gap in that area of television. 8pm is a tough spot for a new show and I think that the network should give the show another chance at a 9pm or 10pm slot, after a well-known lead in. My husband is also a lawyer and loves the show. Give this one time for an audience to grow. I think it is as good as Boston Legal and could ultimately have that kind of popularity – as it also is a little quirky! Great television –don’t take it away!
Please do not cancel this show. It has an extremely talented cast that has done a remarkable job with the time slot it was given. Placing the deep end in an 8pm time slot on Thursdays was not giving it much of a chance to begin with. If ABC had placed it after a show such as Grey’s Anatomy or Private Practice the built in audience for those shows would have given this show a shot an once they saw it the ratings would have been much higher. This show may not be extremely “realistic” as many critics have said, but that isn’t the point of TV it is made to entertain people and give them a distraction from the hardships in life and the deep end does just that. As someone whose parents are both lawyers and is currently studying law in college, I don’t mind the fact it isn’t an accurate portrayal of a “first years” life because that by no means would make a good TV show. Please don’t cancel the series and give it a fair shot to succeed.
Please don’t cancel this show! I love it and don’t want another ABC show I like to get cancelled. You often have good premises in the shows you try out, but don’t stick with them long enough to build a good following. I’ve told many people about this show.
I have become a big fan of The Deep End after being referred to it by a friend. Keep up the great work and I hope that it will be renewed for a full season.
