If The Deep End goes, then so do I. I will no longer watch anything on ABC, including General Hospital, or anything on ABC Family, and I will encourage everyone I know, wherever I go, to do the same. What is with ABC and their cancellation ities. Life on Mars was wonderful, Lisa Bonet is wonderful, both of them are gone, and now….the Deep End? The Deep End is a really great show, better than Grey’s Anatomy, and a whole lot more potential. People say of Grey’s Anatomy, oh my Gosh, I love Patrick Dempsey, Isn’t Patrick Dempsey Great? Yes, he is. He’s phenomenal. And, he existed, way before Grey’s Anatomy. He was wonderful in the episode of Once and Again that he did with Sela Ward, and he was remarkable as nerd turned Teenage Heartthrob in Can’t Buy ME LOVE. Despite popular opinion, some of will never need “MCDREAMY” to know who patrick is. ABC, you do have intelligent viewers, viewers who choose their shows sparingly, and viewers who do their research, and as one of those aforementioned viewers, I can tell you that The Deep End oozes with originality: it is fresh, sensitive and Funny, without ever being cruel. Other signers of this petition are absolutely right when they say that airing this show during the olympics was the equivalent of setting it up for failure (and yet, I understand it managed to hold its own with 8 million viewers-pretty impressive-think of what it will average in “the non olympic hour). Other viewers are likewise accurate when they say that if you cancel The Deep End, you will be contributing to an increasing number of depressed people in our nation/universe. The Deep End has hope and heart, the show is built within and around that, and such elements are something we really need and are, apart from the courageous and funky style The Deep End, sorely lacking in our entertainment today. The Deep End has the potential to be an inspiration, a beacon of light, to viewers of any age group, all across the board. Do you really want to take that away?

This show was set up for failure because good episodes aired during the Olympics. But I know people caught up online. Please don’t cancel it because of a few bad ratings. Bring it back and watch it be successful.
