TNT has decided not to renew their Proof TV show for a second season. The life-after-death drama has been cancelled after one short season of 10 episodes.
On Proof, Doctor Carolyn “Cat” Tyler (Jennifer Beals) lost her son, saw her marriage end, and became estranged to her teenage daughter. Looking for purpose, Cat is persuaded by cancer-stricken billionaire Ivan Turing (Matthew Modine) to search for evidence that death is not the end and this takes her on a deeply personal and emotional journey. The rest of the cast includes David Sutcliffe, Joe Morton, Edi Gathegi, Caroline Rose Kaplan, Callum Blue, and Annie Thurman.
Debuting in June, Proof got off to a slow start with a 0.37 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 2.66 million viewers. The numbers didn’t get better as the weeks progressed and were often worse. The season ended up averaging a 0.31 in the demo with 2.12 million viewers. It was one of the lowest-rated scripted shows on the cable channel.

I never heard about this show until today. I watched the whole season in one go that’s how much i enjoyed it. In fact i believe that with the right promotion it has the potential to be one of the greatest shows out there, well that is my opinion. I hope they rethink it.
After watching the first episode, I couldn’t wait to see the next. I watched all 10 episodes back to back and was super excited for season two. After I finished the first season I told my wife that was THE BEST show on tv. When I found out that there wasn’t going to be a season two I was EXTREMELY DISSAPOINTED. I have never cared enough about any other show to take the time to express my feedback in a post until now. Please give us a season two.
Right, a lot of people never heard of it because they didn’t advertise it enough. I wonder how many people have to write in before they hear us. Please bring it back.

I wish TNT would reconsider and bring Proof back. I really enjoyed the show….much more interesting than yet another crime drama; can only take so many criminals and serial killers. Give it a chance!

I REALLY LIKED THIS SHOW! IT WAS INNOVATIVE AND UNUSUAL…I DEFINITELY WOULD HAVE WATCHED A SECOND SEASON. AM I THE ONLY ONE WHO’S GETTING WEARY OF BONDNG WITH A NEW SHOW ONLY TO HAVE IT CANCELLED PREMATURELY?!

I am so disappointed to hear Proof was cancelled. I’ve been wondering and waiting for its return. I truly was enjoying the series. I would have definitely would have watched the 2nd season even the 4th and 5th etc….
