The team members on the Pure Genius TV show work together to save lives. It’s a noble cause but will their stories attract enough viewers to bring big ratings? Will this new CBS TV series be cut down in its prime (cancelled) or, will it be renewed for a second season? Stay tuned.
Pure Genius follows top medical professionals as they team up with cutting-edge tech experts and try to push the boundaries of modern medicine to save lives. Doctor Walter Wallace (Dermot Mulroney) is a disgraced but brilliant surgeon who is recruited by a young Silicon Valley tech billionaire, James Bell (Augustus Prew). Wallace learns that Bell is harboring a secret and he begins to question just what the young founder is really trying to achieve. Others on the team are played by Odette Annable, Reshma Shetty, Aaron Jennings, Ward Horton, and Brenda Song.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival.

Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. What do you think? Do you like the Pure Genius TV show on CBS? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for season two?
5/15/17 update: CBS has cancelled Pure Genius after one season. Details here.
Our favorite new show! Would be ashamed if it’s not renewed. Tired of the networks canceling good shows too quickly!!
It’s an awesome show, I really hope they run a second season.
Please don’t cancel this show! It’s a breath of fresh air.
Pure Genius is a fantastic show. The cast is great and I hope to see another season.
This is the best show on tv… so much meaning
This is one of the most interesting and intelligent TV medical dramas on. It’s forward thinking views of medicine are refreshing and informative, from the run of the mill shows. And it has compassion. Imagine that.
We love this show and really hope it is not canceled. Very interesting to watch and love the characters in the show. We have never missed a show and always look forward to watching it each week. I really hope this show continues.
We really enjoy watching this show and hope it is not cancelled. Seems like networks don’t want to make the effort of continuing good shows beyond the first season. This show is interesting and there are a few relationships that have been started that we would love to see the outcome of.
I hope that CBS sticks with this show. It’s interesting, engaging, and posits some amazing possibilities for medicine in the near future. This is the kind of show that, given a year or two, could develop a real following. Hey, CBS, NCIS wasn’t an immediate hit, either!
I love this show. I never miss an episode. It is a great feel good TV show. The network doesn’t give great shows a chance.
Pure genius is an awesome show hope to see season 2
Love this show. It’s slow to catch on, but is so unique in the land of futuristic cataclysmic horror shows, that I find it totally enjoyable. Not heavy. Just very clever.
DO NOT CANCEL, PLEASE!
I love the human content the actors show and the caring .why is Something pure and good canceled and shows with murder go on . Please continue another season
I wish more people knew about this site to voice their opinions. This is one of those rare shows that shows depth in both the subject matter and the actors. I lived in Silicon Valley for years and truly believe that someday such a hospital will exist.
Please do not cancel Pure Genius! There are so many viewers that look forward to and are deeply touched by the profound message of hope. I’ve read comments on other sites from viewers who were saved by kidney transplants. The depths of the the story subjects from each episode reach the hearts of so many. Tonight’s episode regarding Louis reminded me of the friends, like Stephen Haywood and Jimmy Lewis, who lost their battles with ALS. Stephen Heywood’s brother Jamie quit his job and founded ALSTDF to try to find a cure to save his brother. There is an award… Read more »
