The team members on the Pure Genius TV show work together to save lives. It’s a noble cause but will their stories attract enough viewers to bring big ratings? Will this new CBS TV series be cut down in its prime (cancelled) or, will it be renewed for a second season? Stay tuned.
Pure Genius follows top medical professionals as they team up with cutting-edge tech experts and try to push the boundaries of modern medicine to save lives. Doctor Walter Wallace (Dermot Mulroney) is a disgraced but brilliant surgeon who is recruited by a young Silicon Valley tech billionaire, James Bell (Augustus Prew). Wallace learns that Bell is harboring a secret and he begins to question just what the young founder is really trying to achieve. Others on the team are played by Odette Annable, Reshma Shetty, Aaron Jennings, Ward Horton, and Brenda Song.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you like the Pure Genius TV show on CBS? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for season two?
5/15/17 update: CBS has cancelled Pure Genius after one season. Details here.
I absolutely love the show. My favourite new show. It makes me cry every episode-in a good way. It would be a shame not to renew this series because it offers so much to its viewers. Thank you in advance for renewing the show for a second season. Anita

So disappointed to see these ratings! The characters, storyline are refreshingly innovative. PLEASE DON’T CANCEL MY FAVORITE SHOW OF THIS SEASON!!!!! Thank you for your time and consideration..
This is brilliant show. It has it all..intelligence, technology, love, family and realistic futuristic medical scenarios unlikeall the fake reality junk that is on TV. Please keep it on.
Please don’t cancel this show!!! It’s our new favorite!
This is a really, really great show …Please keep the great writing/stories and characters going…I will be really upset if it doesn’t get renewed!
This is my favorite show – PLEASE keep it on!!!!!!!!!
Love this show! I have kids so I usually DVR it and watch it later in the week. It’s better than Greys Anatomy now. Keep it on!!
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT! I don’t watch TV hardly ever, and this is a show I do my best not to miss. If I miss, I get onto CBS and watch online. I think the time is hard for a lot of people to watch, but the story line and the cutting edge medical story line is phenomenal. Please don’t cancel! I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE times a million….this show!
I feel as do many of my friends this show is great. Yes it is out of bounds with the “real” hospitals, but it gives people the hope that someday these procedures could happen. We have enough of shows that are pure fiction, lets dream a little. We can not put ourselves in most of the other shows, we all have or will be in a hospital. KEEP THE SHOW!!
