Vacation‘s Skyler Gisondo has been cast in the Santa Clarita Diet TV show, starring Drew Barrymore and Timothy Olyphant. A new comedy series, Netflix ordered  Santa Clarita Diet straight-to-series, in mid-March.

The single-cam show follows husband and wife Joel (Olyphant, Justified) and Sheila (Barrymore). The realtors lead vaguely discontented lives in suburban Santa Clarita, CA. When Sheila goes through a dramatic change, it sends their lives down a road of death and destruction — but in a good way. How’s that for a log-line?

Per TV Line Gisondo is set as Eric. He is described as the, “…awkward boy next door with a love of science and a crush on Abby, Joel and Sheila’s yet-to-be cast daughter.”

Showrunner Victor Fresco, Drew Barrymore, Timothy Olyphant, Aaron Kaplan, Tracy Katsky, Chris Miller and Ember Truesdell executive produce the Santa Clarita Diet TV series. Nancy Juvonen produces.
