“I knew I wanted to work with Brad and Ian again on something comedic, and we are having a blast writing SCREAM QUEENS,” commented Murphy. “We hope to create a whole new genre – comedy-horror – and the idea is for every season to revolve around two female leads. We’ve already begun a nationwide search for those women, as well as 10 other supporting roles, and we’re very grateful to Dana and Gary for their enthusiastic support.”
“One of our top priorities at the network has been to get Ryan Murphy to create a new series for FOX. We loved every element of the pitch for this show – the genre-bending concept, which blends true horror with big comedic moments; the diverse and unforgettable characters and reuniting the phenomenal creative team that delivered GLEE,” said Walden and Newman. “SCREAM QUEENS will go straight to series. It’s a huge commitment and an expression of our faith in Ryan. We are ecstatic to have him, along with Brad, Ian and Dante as our partners on this exciting ride.”
SCREAM QUEENS is produced by 20th Century Fox Television in association Ryan Murphy Television. The series is co-created by Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan. Murphy, Falchuk, Brennan and Dante Di Loreto will serve as executive producers.
I just watched the first episode of “…Queens” it was really funny and campy but in the good way. I can’t wait to know who the killer is and why. I think it will be more than one killer just like in the scream movies. Trust me, this one has the tiniest sliver of suspense but is going to survive because of its silly humor and over the top bitchy-ness of the head queen. give it a chance, bet you start liking this one.
Straight to series order, a green light to fail. This does not sound at one bit interesting.
I can hear it now. “Oh look, someone murdered Muffy. But doesn’t that crimson red blood clash with her blouse. ” (insert canned laughter).
wow, sounds like another loser
This fronm NEMO F
Supernatural, Buffy, Angel… Oh the hubris of thinking you are creating a whole new genre when so many great shows have tread there before. Still, I like comedy-horror, so I’ll give it a go.
