Things weren’t looking good for Shark Tank after ABC cancelled plans to air repeats and the lone unaired episode this summer. Still, word was that the network was still considering ordering a second season, possibly mixing up the shark panel.
Well, ABC has decided to renew Shark Tank for another season, albeit an abbreviated one. The alphabet network has ordered eight more episodes of the reality series and sharks Barbara Corcoran, Kevin Harrington, Robert Herjavec, Daymond John and Kevin O’Leary are all set to return.
For at least three installments, the shark panel will be joined by comedian Jeff Foxworthy. While Foxworthy doesn’t typically come to mind when thinking about entrepreneurial ventures, he does own his own lines of calendars, greeting cards, beef jerky, and barbecue sauces. As an entertainer, he also produces comedy albums, books, and hosts TV shows.
New episodes of Shark Tank are expected to be produced this fall and they should begin airing (along with the leftover unaired episode) in 2011.
What do you think? Are you glad to hear it’s coming back? What do you think of Jeff Foxworthy joining the crew? Good idea?
like to know about payback options, when the sharks invest their money, do they get the investment money paid back plus the share of profit? or is this just investment money, no payback and only get a percentage of the new idea or business?
another question, what if there is no patent on new idea or product, that is presented, then would a slim chance of getting an investment from them?
Based on what I’ve seen, every deal is different. Sometimes the specifics that you mention are addressed in the on-camera negotiations and sometimes not.
I would like to know if Shark Tank is coming back for another season, and if it is….We are hoping that they will consider our invention that is now in patent pending, the Combination Ratchandle Cargo Tie Down Winch used for securing loads on flatbed truck trailers, designed and developed by my brother, Steve Foryan
I just love this show and am so glad it is coming back for a second season.
My Brother Steve and I have a patented item Steve invented. It is a better Cargo Tie-Down Winch used for securing loads on the sides of trucker’s flatbed trailers. It is called the COMBINATION RATCHANDLE CARGO TIE-DOWN WINCH. Its designed is milled at the factory by utilizing a common 3/4″, “snap & lock” ratchet wrench insert (while still keeping the same design as standard winches that use a bar) for tightening and securing the straps that hold a load on a trucker’s flatbed trailer. Its universal design is built to speed up the time it takes for a trucker to… Read more »
