FOX introduced a few new law enforcement TV shows, in the 2016-17 television season. While Lethal Weapon has already been renewed for a second season, APB is struggling in the TV ratings and could be cancelled. Which path will the new Shots Fired TV show follow? Will it be cancelled or renewed for season two? Stay tuned.
Airing on the FOX television network, Shots Fired stars Sanaa Lathan, Stephan James, Stephen Moyer, Will Patton, Mack Wilds, Aisha Hinds, Clare-Hope Ashitey, Conor Leslie, DeWanda Wise, and Richard Dreyfuss. Helen Hunt, Jill Hennessy, and Dennis Haysbert guest star.
A timely mystery drama thriller, Shots Fired is a 10-hour limited series which explores the tense aftermath of two racially charged shootings in a small North Carolina town. When African-American Deputy Joshua Beck (Wilds) shoots and kills an unarmed white college student, it unsettles his small burg. As word spreads about the overlooked murder of an African-American teenager, tensions flare. Launching an investigation, the Department of Justice dispatches experienced investigator Ashe Akino (Lathan) and young Special Prosecutor Preston Terry (James) to investigate.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
5/25 update: You can see the rest of the latest night’s ratings.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you like the Shots Fired TV show? Should it be cancelled or renewed for a second season on FOX?

Exciting, thrilling amazing program .. keep it !!!!
I think this show is great….it deals with a very sensitive subject which is handled very well by the writers and actors….but rather than focusing on the issue entirely, you also connect with the characters due to their personal struggles….I hope it is renewed
love love love this show. very well written hope it renews.
It’s a great show! It’s good to see producers take a chance on touchy subjects. I know some will criticize the content but for others it hits home. Bring it back!
We love this show!!! I hope for season 2
Great show, it needs a second season it’s real and the acting is great. Please renew for second season.

Renew. I like this show. There are a lot of good actors on this show. Kudos
I thought the promos looked good but I tried watching the show and it wan’t good. I hoped it got better but 4 episodes in there was no change. I’m done watching.
Good show so far. Keep it on as long as the content stays realistic.
This show is not fit for TV. It is trying to spark racial tensions. Stop watching this show so it gets cancelled.
Spark racial tension?!? It real life. That’s prob why you can handle it. The truth hurts and embarrasses people.
In real life the entire police force isn’t corrupt. This show is just promoting a false political narrative.
You don’t get out in the real world much, do you? One-not all that unreal that a small town police force could be corrupt. Two-it’s a fictional tv show.
Greg, in the show they never said the entire police force was corrupt. But if you see something that is not right then the officers should have reported it, so they become guilty by association. And if you really knew anything, at one time they fired an entire Police force in New York for corruption. You see on television town officials going down for corruption all the time. Corruption is a virus that spreads, it is not one single person. What false political narrative, I see this show brings out truths. the problem is people like you do not like… Read more »
The ratings are good enough so that it will probably be renewed.
It’s the truth. Maybe not for all forces but this is an actual real life situation. Different cities bring different things
The pilot episode was gripping. Hope it continues. The cast is uniformly terrific. For us, it is a winner
Very disappointed it is canceled. It was one of the better shows this season.
Is the 18-49 age group, the only one that counts? What about the rest of the viewers?
That decision needs some rethinking.
