So You Think You Can Dance has not yet been officially renewed for a new season by FOX, but the chances of a return for the dance competition series are looking really good. The series is now looking for contestants!
FOX put out a casting call on their website for those interested in trying out for the series to send in their videos and digital entries. In-person auditions and the cities they will occur in have not been announced yet.
This will be season 17 for So You Think You Can Dance. The announcement from FOX is below:
“This season, potential contestants may audition online by registering here and uploading a video or providing a link to a video of their performance. If selected from the video/link auditions by the producers, the producers will contact the potential contestant to schedule an in-person audition. In addition to the digital submissions, a potential contestant also may audition in person. Auditions cities and details will be announced soon!”

I absolutely LOVE the show! I am in my 70’s and I see all these young people as my grandchildren and I’m so proud of them. I love the stories that the dances tell thought the creation of the coreographers. They are brilliant! About the only thing I don’t like about SYTYCD is obnoxious Mary Murphy. The show was much better for the few seasons she was gone. I look forward to a new season!

I have loved this show from the very beginning. I watch ever episode and record ever episode ever season. This season just as the auditions were over and the competition was getting started I had lost the Fox channel, I missed all of it but struggled with every option, watched it on my phone. It wasn’t convenient since I would always watch it with my mom. A month of more after the season was over, I got the Fox Channel back, I found episodes on Demand, and me and mom watched the whole Competition together. Loved every bit of it!… Read more »
I LOVE the show… PLEASE LET SEASON 17 HAPPEN!!
The last 2 seasons sucked. It was not dancing with the stars, but who could get the most votes from the east coast and midwest. They should do like the voice where the whole country can vote and you get the elimination the next day. It is not a political show or a popularity show it is a dance competition. I look forward to this show. Have been watching for years. I was you would return to the longer format…but enjoy how you have furthered the implementation of vastly different dance styles.
Please renew. I have never missed a show. It amazes me to watch these young dancers flourish and what they are capable is mind blowing. Not only is the show entertaining but the emotions thst come from these routines and what I feel as a viewer can’t be described. That is said in the many emmy nominations they received
I believe that this show is so very important for our young people. This is a wonderful platform that gives young people a place to learn and grow. Opportunities available on this show are not available anywhere else. This show gives opportunity to young people in the dance field not celebrities! I would be greatly saddened if it were not to return. I’ve been watching since the beginning. Each year the talent is better than before and most of the contestants remark on how they have been watching since young children. Please don’t take that away!!!!

Please bring back So You Think You Can Dance! It’s a awesome TV Show and it gives dancers a chance to showcase their talents!

It is one of the best 2 competitive dance shows out there! If any show SHOULD go away it is DANCING WITH THE STARS! DWTS is beyond done and stale!
