For years, Sunday nights on FOX belonged to animated comedies. A couple years ago, the network tried reintroducing live-action comedies to mixed success in the ratings. Now, they’re trying a hybrid sitcom with Son of Zorn. How will it perform? Will this show be cancelled or renewed for a second season? Stay tuned.
On Son of Zorn, a warrior (voice of Jason Sudeikis) from a faraway island in the Pacific Ocean – where everything and everyone is animated — returns to Orange County in California to win back his live-action ex-wife and their teenage son. The live-action cast includes Johnny Pemberton, Cheryl Hines, Tim Meadows, and Artemis Pebdani.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you like the Son of Zorn TV show? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a second season?
5/11 update: FOX has cancelled Son of Zorn so there won’t be a second season. Details here.
This show sucks. It’s a ripoff of Heman, a ripoff of Conan the barbarian and a ripoff of thundar
Put it on Craptoon Network where cartoons suck and go to die!
