The Taste wasn’t exactly a ratings smash for ABC so how will Splash perform in the same timeslot? Will it be a surprise hit and run for many years or will it be cancelled after one season, like so many others? We shall see.
The first season of Splash typically airs Tuesday nights on the ABC network. The show pits celebrities Keshia Knight Pulliam, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Louie Anderson, Drake Bell, Chuy Bravo, Rory Bushfield, Nicole Eggert, Ndamukong Suh, Katherine Webb, and Kendra Wilkinson against one another in a high diving competition. It’s hosted by Joey Lawrence and Charissa Thompson and judged by Steve Foley and David Boudia. Greg Louganis serves as the competitors’ mentor.
Below are the TV show’s ratings for the 2012-13 season, the best way to tell if Splash is going to be cancelled or renewed for a second season.

It was a positive start for the celebrity reality competition. According to ABC, it was the best debut for a new reality show since The X Factor on FOX.
Note: These ratings are collected by the Nielsen company and are the final national numbers. These are different from the fast affiliate numbers which are just estimates of the actual ratings and are reported on by most other outlets. The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.
What do you think? Do you like the Splash TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a second season?
Have ABC to take Splash off the air and leave it on the air. Move the show over to cable network Lifetime in reruns only.
Renew, Definitely Renew. Entertaining and Suspenseful. I hope Kenesha, a/k/a Rudy, gets another chance, and the raw deal she got in Episode 101 from the show’s producers is rectified. Obviously the “judges” voted as per their orders.
Please renew this show! The best parts were the flops!!! Kareem was my favorite because of how funny his dives were, I never laughed so hard. And of course Rory was awesome and I’m happy he won. But the show will only be a success if they bring celebs who can’t dive well, because let’s face it, the bad dives are the best!
When I first heard of the show, I thought it was “cheesy,” however, after watching it, I’ve grown to like it. The series is entertaining and can be watched without vulgarity concerns. I do hope that the series is renewed, but, I believe that the scoring/judging system needs to be revamped.
This show needs to be cancelled ASAP!!! This is complete and utter trash
I think this is just a fun show. I’ve enjoyed watching the celebrities grow each week and through their training. I’m routing for them all and don’t have a real favorite. The dancers at the beginning are fun to watch too….I would definitely watch next season.
Too much skewing of the scores according to perceived abilities of the “divers.” To much variance between abilities, and of course there will be injuries and thus exits and switches of celebs. Could be doomed.
I love the show its a show without trash talking. its finally nice to see a show like this. keep the bad stuff out. finally a nice show i can watch with kids. but i have to say the judging is prejucided. the basket ball player should have been let go he was not good at all. i think they are keeping him for ratings or something or political correctness. anyhow keep the show on please.
Isn’t it amazing how a measly 9 million viewers (hardly great for a show well-hyped for having a beauty queen in a swimsuit) can be spun by ABC as “best” anything…
