Earlier this season, CBS renewed newbie shows Scorpion, Madam Secretary, and NCIS: New Orleans for another season each. The network’s other new drama, Stalker, was glaringly missing from that list of early renewals. Is it doomed? Will Stalker be renewed for a second season or will it be cancelled instead?
A cop thriller, Stalker follows the work of the LAPD’s Threat Assessment Unit, a team that investigates incidents of stalking. The TV show stars Dylan McDermott, Maggie Q, Victor Rasuk, and Mariana Klaveno.
The series debuted in October to a 2.0 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 9.07 million viewers. It wasn’t exactly an impressive start for the new series and the ratings dropped 10-14% in week two. That wasn’t too bad of a decline and CBS ended up giving Stalker some time (a “full season” order) to prove itself.
Unfortunately, the ratings have been dwindling downward for most of the season. Last week’s episode hit a new low with a 1.2 rating in the demo and 6.74 million viewers. CBS has no shortage of successful crime/legal series and numbers like those are too low for CBS. The network could bring it back for a second season but that seems highly unlikely.
Last week’s installment was Stalker’s 17th episode and CBS supposedly only ordered 20 of them for the season. It’s unclear if or when the remaining trio of episodes will be shown. Saturday night airings seem like a natural move at this point.
New series CSI: Cyber — starring recent Oscar-winner Patricia Arquette — takes over the Wednesdays at 10pm timeslot next week. It’s a natural fit for lead-in Criminal Minds since both revolve around FBI units.

Keep Stalker!!! Yes, there is plenty of other crime shows that people could watch, but Stalker is something different than all of the C.S.I. and N.C.I.S. spinoffs, which are starting to get irritating, may as well just create a N.C.I.S. Chicago…
Anyways, don’t cancel it!! Unlike some other shows, there is always something going on therefore, it is always “intense”.

Great show, don’t cancel. Give it a chance, so sick of all the NCIS spin offs and CSI. You need something a little different.
I agree!!! It was different and refreshing…it is not always another murder story. The first episode cut to the chase and was jawdropping! I can tell you what will play out in a CSI or NCIS and there are 8 different CSI’s and NCIS’s and Hawaii 5-0 – They are ALL THE SAME!!! Boring! I’m over that predictable drama! STALKER IS AWESOME!

Stalker should definitely be renewed because it is a really good show, the plots are well written and it’s a different take on crime shows. Not your typical crime show
I liked that show. I don’t understand why you would cancel a good show about real life situations.
Stalker is one of the best new shows in quite a few years!!!!! I believe the day and time slot was the reason the ratings may have been low!!!!!!! BRING it back for season 2 and many many more!!!!!!! I can figure out “who did it” on most of the shows I watch, but not Stalker, It is well written and the cast is great!!!Madam Secretary is BORING!!!!!!

Don’t cancel!!! Such a neat concept, it might need to be tweaked a little be its a great show. I don’t record it because it’s On Demand. But I watch it sometime the week it’s aired. What a great cast too.
Stalker is one of my very favorite television shows! All of the actors do a wonderful job. I really hope it will be able to continue for season 2.
PLEASE!!! Keep Stalker going… The actors are wonderful and each episode gets more and more intense. I never knew much about stalking and how scary it is but now I do, thanks to Stalker. Move it to another day and time slot if you have to but please keep it on. Stalker is my favorite new show of the season and I would love to see it continue for season 2 and hopefully beyond that.
