NBC has had great ratings success with airing The Blacklist after The Voice, their biggest series. Will State of Affairs be a hit as well? Cancelled or renewed for season two? Stay tuned.
State of Affairs follows a top CIA analyst (Katherine Heigl) who assembles the President of the United States’ Daily Briefing (PDB), weighing the vital security issues that face the nation. She has a close personal relationship with the commander-in-chief (Alfre Woodard) as she was once engaged to the president’s now-deceased son. The rest of the cast of this dramatic thriller includes Adam Kaufman, Sheila Vand, Cliff Chamberlain, Tommy Savas, and David Harbour.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
5/8 update: NBC has cancelled State of Affairs after one season of 13 episodes.
1/19 update: If you ran the network, would you cancel or renew State of Affairs?
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
Note: Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you like the State of Affairs TV show? Would you like to see it cancelled or renewed for a second season?
Yes, another flop starts its journey to that big round up of dead tv shows in the sky.
And wasn’t this thing originally billed as a limited series? how do you end a limited run with a cliffhanger? oh right, when you know a show is a flop, call it a limited series so you don’t look so stupid.
Does it ever really matter what any of us thinks? The idiots at all the 4 networks live in another world. They should stop sniffing coke and and realize that all good shows aren’t determined by the magical age group ratings they are after. How archaic….
Do not cancel. Great show
Love this intelligent show…hope it is renewed!
My husband and I love this show! Please don’t cancel!
Please bring back State of Affairs!
Please don’t cancel… if you didn’t watch, then you missed a great show.
Please do not cancel this show!! It is the best show we have ever watched. Because we both start work early we DVR the show and may not show up in the ratings. There are surely others doing the same. Stay the course, and they will come.
