NBC has had great ratings success with airing The Blacklist after The Voice, their biggest series. Will State of Affairs be a hit as well? Cancelled or renewed for season two? Stay tuned.
State of Affairs follows a top CIA analyst (Katherine Heigl) who assembles the President of the United States’ Daily Briefing (PDB), weighing the vital security issues that face the nation. She has a close personal relationship with the commander-in-chief (Alfre Woodard) as she was once engaged to the president’s now-deceased son. The rest of the cast of this dramatic thriller includes Adam Kaufman, Sheila Vand, Cliff Chamberlain, Tommy Savas, and David Harbour.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
5/8 update: NBC has cancelled State of Affairs after one season of 13 episodes.
1/19 update: If you ran the network, would you cancel or renew State of Affairs?
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
Note: Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you like the State of Affairs TV show? Would you like to see it cancelled or renewed for a second season?
Love love LOVE THIS SHOW!!!! Please keep it going for a second season!!!
renew please!!!!!
It has so much passion from so many players. Keep up the great writing.
Please save this terrific show. Perhaps, it can find a home on Netflix just as Crossing Lines did. I would love to see that.
Please do not cancel State of Affairs. It is a great show, my husband and I love the show. I am tired of all of these other shows that other networks put on, who want reality shows. State of Affair is what going on today. Good actors and actress. You and everyone else always cancels good show, and put on garbage shows. Take a chance keep it for another season and if it doesn’t work out fine, but give it a chance.
Love love love this show!!!DONT cancel. My husband and I cant wait until the next week for the next episode to air. Please keep it on. We don’t need any more police dramas, reality shows or psycho killer shows. This is so current and real it feels like it could be going on right at this moment in time. All lead roles are well acted and very believable . SAVE STATE OF AFFAIRS!
Keep the show it is great
I was a late comer to this series but it is one of my favorite shows now. I’ve caught up on the series via the web, but am now a committed viewer. This is truly a “nail-biter” each and every week. The writing is top notch and I hope this will be renewed. It would be a shame to let such a well-written show to be cancelled. There are so many shows not half as good that are given a longer trial period to make it.
I LOVE this show! We are addicted and would be so upset if it weren’t renewed. Please NBC, give it a chance. By the last episode we were hooked and can’t imagine not seeing it again. I get very frustrated when I really love a new show and it gets cancelled. This show is smart, fast paced, well acted and really addicting…give it a chance to catch on with other viewers.
I love this show I hope they don’t cancel it. Its an excellent show. I love the cast and its well written. What is so compelling about the show is it’s a show for our times. The storyline is so relevant to what is happening in the news. What I really like about the show is that has an edge because it’s very intriguing and different. I found there are too many shows have similar theme, with cops and detectives shows solving murders / crimes
Please don’t cancel its a brilliant show
It looks as if this show is gaining viewers. I hope BBC gives them a chance! Come on NBC…don’t cancel STATE OF AFFAIRS…
Please please renew. We love this show !!
Totally hooked , would be so sad if the show cancelled
To say the show is captivating is an understatement. So many stories at once normally means weak cohesion – not the case in this show. Sure there are little nit picks, but it’s a tv show for crying out loud. The characters are strong and in depth, with great back stories and every thread has a future that isn’t completely predictable. To not renew the show would be an enormous shame, and being blunt, an error in judgement. Once you start this show, you want to see it all. It’s addictive and exciting – it deserves a second season at… Read more »
I really enjoyed watching this show. It is fast paced, well written and features strong women characters. I am hooked and was shocked to read it may be cancelled. Please renew it and give it a chance to prove it is a great show!

Regards
martinjacobscanada, master something.
I didn’t expect much from State of Affairs, but decided to see more after the first episode and then became hooked. I could pick some nits, but compared to similar shows, this one is excellent! It’s well written, which right away separates it from most of the competition. I had no idea it was in danger of cancellation until I started looking for info on when the next episode would pick up from the last cliff-hanger. There’s so much garbage on television. Please, please give us more of one of the few well done action series available. I’ve never written… Read more »
