NBC has had great ratings success with airing The Blacklist after The Voice, their biggest series. Will State of Affairs be a hit as well? Cancelled or renewed for season two? Stay tuned.
State of Affairs follows a top CIA analyst (Katherine Heigl) who assembles the President of the United States’ Daily Briefing (PDB), weighing the vital security issues that face the nation. She has a close personal relationship with the commander-in-chief (Alfre Woodard) as she was once engaged to the president’s now-deceased son. The rest of the cast of this dramatic thriller includes Adam Kaufman, Sheila Vand, Cliff Chamberlain, Tommy Savas, and David Harbour.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
5/8 update: NBC has cancelled State of Affairs after one season of 13 episodes.
1/19 update: If you ran the network, would you cancel or renew State of Affairs?
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
Note: Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you like the State of Affairs TV show? Would you like to see it cancelled or renewed for a second season?
Please renew this show! We didn’t miss a show and would love to see State of Affairs come back!
Please renew State of Affairs! I LOVE this show!
I think NBC hurt the series at the very beginning by not using a consistent storyline. My wife and I almost stopped watching but then the story line changed and became more contempirary with a lot better character development. We love the show now but i think a lot of others didn’t come back after the first 2 episodes. NBC needs to give it another season. It is contempary, well acted and imaginitively written.
Please renew State of Affairs, love the show!
Please don’t cancel the show! Maybe NBC needs to promote the show better. I honestly don’t think most people even know about it. I’ve seen the network endlessly promote shows of much lower quality. NBC should stand up for this high caliber drama!

PLEASE DONT CANCEL!!! This show is great and needs more time!!!! and it CAN NOT end on that last episode!!!
RENEW State of Affairs! My husband and I eagerly anticipated viewing the weekly show and were so surprised and sadden to learn that it may be canceled! From the show’s debut, Kathryn Heigl’s strong role as a top female CIA analyst was captivating. All the surrounding cast members’ roles added immense suspense, intrigue and drama to this well-written show. Kept the viewers guessing and waiting until the following week to figure out who could possibly be the mole or traitor. NBC execs give the show a reprieve and renew it for a second season! It’s far more interesting than the… Read more »
