NBC has had great ratings success with airing The Blacklist after The Voice, their biggest series. Will State of Affairs be a hit as well? Cancelled or renewed for season two? Stay tuned.
State of Affairs follows a top CIA analyst (Katherine Heigl) who assembles the President of the United States’ Daily Briefing (PDB), weighing the vital security issues that face the nation. She has a close personal relationship with the commander-in-chief (Alfre Woodard) as she was once engaged to the president’s now-deceased son. The rest of the cast of this dramatic thriller includes Adam Kaufman, Sheila Vand, Cliff Chamberlain, Tommy Savas, and David Harbour.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
5/8 update: NBC has cancelled State of Affairs after one season of 13 episodes.
1/19 update: If you ran the network, would you cancel or renew State of Affairs?
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
Note: Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you like the State of Affairs TV show? Would you like to see it cancelled or renewed for a second season?
Keep the show!
Please continue State of Affairs. This, along with the Blacklist, are my favorites and are on the short list of programs that I always watch. Love this one.
Please continue with the 2nd Season… The Blacklist and State of Affairs are my favorites!!!
I loved State of Affairs. Hope NBC gives it a second chance.
I find State of Affairs even more compelling than the Blacklist, which is an excellent show as well. Great characters, intriguing story lines. Do NOT cancel this show. And if you do, sell it to FX, USA, Netflix or Showtime so that it can continue. It’s that goo.
A show that is engaging, clever and topical in its storyline. Please renew! One of the few shows on my limited must watch list!
Please renew!!! I want to know what happened to Charlie!
Our two favorite new shows are State of Affairs and Madame Secretary.
Let this show develop.
Do NOT cancel this show. It is 2nd in my household after blacklist
We love this show and will be very disappointed if it is cancelled. We were talking to a number of our friends and they will boycott what ever you put on in place of Stare of Affairs.. It is action filled, drama, and has some comedy. Equally as much if not more then Homeland. If cancelled it will be a big mistake. Great show
This is my favorite TV program! I wait for it week to week . It’s well done and quite current in content.
