After a season of declining ratings, TBS decided to end Cougar Town next year. What will happen to Sullivan & Son? Will this series’ ratings continue to fall this season? Will the show be cancelled or renewed for a fourth season? Stay tuned!
Sullivan & Son revolves around a corporate lawyer (Steve Byrne) who quits his job and wants to take over the family bar in Pittsburgh. The rest of the cast includes Christine Ebersole, Brian Doyle-Murray, Jodi Long, Valerie Azlynn, Vivian Bang, Owen Benjamin, Roy Wood Jr., Ahmed Ahmed, and Dan Lauria.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s chances of staying on the air. The higher the ratings, the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available.
11/20 update: TBS has cancelled Sullivan & Son after three seasons.
Final season averages: 0.6 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 1.58 million total viewers.

For comparisons: Season two of Sullivan & Son averaged a 0.8 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 1.99 million total viewers.
What do you think? Do you like the Sullivan & Son TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for season four?
they better not cancel it! i just found them thanks to the cover5 game and was hoping to watch them / get-caught-up with the show.
Love the show!
I thoroughly enjoy this show and wish very much that it gets renewed for next summer. I really would like to see it on every week during the year, rather than wait for it the following summer. The cast is great and they work well together! I like the humor and the “hidden messages or lessons” in the show. It’s nice to take a break from the ridiculous “reality shows” out there (I won’t watch) and see something that has real humor, a theme and people you can relate to. For that half hour I don’t think of anything else… Read more »
Sullivan & Son should be renewed. It’s funny and entertaining
We enjoy Sullivan & Sons and tune in each week. It’s something my husband and I, along with our neighbor all watch together. I hope they renew this show.
I love Sullivan & Son! It is the one show my husband and I make sure to watch every time it’s on and we record it at the same time because it is just that good. It’s been refreshing to watch a non-PC program that reflects how real people act. Like Steve’s character, my husband and I are working class people with college degrees. Our friends and family are made up of different races and nationalities. This show is how we sit around and cut up with people. On most TV shows everyone is so hypersensitive that everyone has to… Read more »
You guys are just horrible, watch something else then. I actually like this show and the characters are funny and it’s slapstick comedy not your regular comedy so I can be a little corny but hey some people like me like that. I also enjoy the have a really diverse cast and the season finale made it very interesting. I hope TBS renews it!
Who says we aren’t “watching something else?” Last time I checked, people are allowed to criticize something AND avoid it. The two aren’t mutually exclusive. After giving this show several chances, it’s terrible AND I’ve chosen to watch something else. Negative comments are just as valid as your positive ones. Move on.
Why feel the need though? there are plenty of shows i don’t like but i would never frequent a story about them.
“Feel the need?” You make it sound as if it’s an “effort.” This site is about the ratings and status of various television shows. If someone takes 15 seconds to read the status of a show he/she doesn’t like, and decides to post their opinion, it’s just as valid as anyone else’s. Aveno is right. This isn’t a Sullivan and Son fan site.
This is a ratings news site. The guy (or girl) didn’t “frequent a story” about the show. He/she clicked on a link about the show’s ratings and took 2 seconds to express a valid opinion, just like you. And for the record, he ended up being right. The show was finally cancelled. Hallelujah.
This was the worst sitcom i think I ever saw. Characters were not likable or memorable. Acting was like the just were reading off the script, jokes were expected, and even the lighting that was done from bottom aimed up into face made it seem even more uneventful!
Just a bad combination of practically everything….
I wish TBS would put this show out of its misery. I keep trying to like it, but it’s just an embarrassment.
I love this show. It’s funny with a slapstick type of comedy and it’s a shame that it doesn’t get better ratings! I think it should be renewed for a 4th season. They always cancel the shows we like. I agree with John, let’s renew this TBS!
If the lead-in to this show was a test pattern, it wouldn’t get a single viewer. It’s godawful.
This show is terrible. The only reason it’s still on the air is because it has Big Bang lead-ins, and I have to assume people are too lazy to change the channel. That said, the ratings continue to drop and drop, so — fingers crossed — we’ll finally be rid of it.
I love this show, it has everything to be the best. It has funny jokes, beer, a lil raceism, great actors. This show is the only show i have left to watch. If this show gets canceled my life on TV is over. Please renew for years to come. Love all of ya. -John
I agree with you John. It’s funny and needs renewed !!
This show might be one of the worst of this genre. Every episode is frankly painful to watch. The jokes alternate between recycled sitcom tropes from decades past and vulgar sex related quips that are more disturbing than funny. TBS is trying very hard to “hide” it between episodes of Big Bang Theory, hoping that people are too dumb to notice the program has changed – it’s a tactic they’ve used for most of their “original” crap. This show really needs to die.
Funny show!
