Telly’s Take
Sun Records got off to a mediocre start and the ratings dropped quite a bit after that. CMT has very few scripted series and this one attracted about half as many viewers as the first half of season five of Nashville. Sun Records could easily be cancelled.
5/5 Update: CMT has confirmed there will be no season two of Sun Records. Details here.
6/5 Update: The producers are shopping Sun Records, season two, to other outlets. Details here.

Love the show. I didn’t mix an episode. Would absolutely love to see it come back and finish the history behind the artist and Sam Phillips. It was a different time then a new Era was about to happen. Let the story continue….
Please Please do not let this show go down. Please give a 2nd season to this show!!! its entertaining – its well written and well acted. Cant wait to see season TWO!!!!
We looked forward to this program each week!!!!! It’s my favorite! PLEASE don’t cancel it!!!
I really enjoyed this show looking forward to a season two
THe reason the ratings were low was because the providers we chose deleted the CMT channel from our lineup. In order to reach more households the series should be on a major network or major cable network that is part of normal subscription. If I want Sun Records I would have to pay more than $100 additional per month just for CMT through Xfinity.
I love this show, please change the network.
I want to see more!! C’mon season 2!!!
My wife and I love sun records. Wish it was on continuously. Please don’t cancel.
