FOX hasn’t had much ratings success with new sitcoms this season. How will Surviving Jack fare? Will it be cancelled or renewed for a second season? Stay tuned.
Surviving Jack revolves around Dunlevy family. A no-nonsense father (Christopher Meloni) starts tough-love parenting his teenage kids (Connor Buckley and Claudia Lee) while his wife returns to college (Rachael Harris). Others in the cast include Kevin Hernandez and Tyler Foden.
The higher a show’s ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better its chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — typically the following morning, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
5/7 update: This series has been cancelled after one season of eight episodes.
5/9 update: You can see the rest of the latest night’s ratings.

These are the final national numbers (unless noted with an “*”). These are different from the fast affiliate numbers which are just estimates of the actual ratings. The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.
What do you think? Do you like the Surviving Jack TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a second season?
This is the BEST show going!! Christopher Meloni is so great in this role. After watching his role on Law and Order for so many years and to now see him in something completely different is refreshing. And his dry wit on the show is the best part! I love this show as does my wife. I hope Fox gives it a shot to pick up more viewers. Perhaps if they had shown more previews for it instead of always showing previews for American Idol which should have been CANCELED years ago it might have a bigger following!
Surviving Jack is the best show on television!!! It must be renewed!!!
This is a very funny show. I haven’t enjoyed a program in this way on ‘regular’ television for a long time. I didn’t know Christopher Meloni could do this kind of comedy. It is time to see a show where the kids aren’t drug addicted, hating their parents and the rest of the world and portrayed as smarter than their parents. It is time to see the normal issues of a sensitive, thinking teenager, and his intelligent dad stumbling like all of us to learn how to relate to our children. Please don’t stop it.
Love love love this show
Love please don’t cancel! !!!!!!
Back in the sixties basically thats all I watched was 30 min sitcoms. Now I basically watch
1 hour shows. There are 2 30 min. shows I do like Modern Family and now S.J. I like
Meloni’s military style of parenting and no cell phones because of the time frame. I for 1
hope it makes it.
I think this is a very funny show. My friends love it and watch it with their teenagers.
My friend’s daughter at Yale said the kids watch it together and are hysterical. I o
hpe it is renewed.
You want Surviving Jack renewed?

I absolutely love this show!! Please tell me it’s coming back!!:-) I realized after watching episode one that I am married to a Jack (and even my husband thinks it’s hilarious)!!haha. Our 3 teenagers have watched now and we are all hooked!! Come on Fox, don’t screw us out of another good show!!:-)
IMO, the Michael J. Fox show was unwatchable. SJ is smart and funny. This show and About a Boy are the best shows on network TV right now. Glad we stumbled onto it.
As for me, I don’t find much good to say about this show. It was that funny for me, but that’s my opinion. Others may disagree.
Love. Love. Love this show! Christopher Meloni is HILarious!! And just at the right time, there are touches of care between dad/kid. Love that! Which was a lot more than what most kids of the 90’s got from their pops!
To the guy who commented about ‘dysfunctional’ families – show me ONE family not dysfunctional in some form or another. Normal IS abnormal….
It’s awful. The show is unoriginal…the writing stinks…and the “acting” is forced and sounds memorized. Unless it’s animated or Gordon Ramsey, Fox has the worst shows.
I get it. The new TV trend is shows with kids narrating as adults about how difficult it was being raised by dysfunctional parents – The Goldbergs, Growing Up Fisher and now this. The idea is already growing old but at least The Goldbergs and Growing Up Fisher have a cross of funny/annoying and touching (more so Fisher) but this newest dreck is too much. The dad is too obnoxious and annoying. There’s nothing remotely funny or touching about him. Who wants to watch a sitcom with an entirely remote, cold man? It’s almost as if Christopher Meloni is too… Read more »
Who wants to watch a show with a cold man? Ever heard of House? The show was a hit. Surviving Jack is hilarious! It’s been a long time since I laughed at a sitcom until now. I grew up with friends who had dads like this so me and many others can relate.
As far as I and my family are concerned, this is one of the best new comedies to be aired. IF you don’t get it, Oh Well! your loss.
If you think there is nothing funny about Christopher Meloni’s acting in this part, you were not paying attention. As for the son, you can’t have everything, and he does OK.
It’s one of the few new shows we enjoy and we all get the same joke.
And who really cares if it follows any other shows pattern. Thank God! it is not another reality show!
You do know this is a comedy, right. If you want to watch a show to match you intense viewing needs try PBS. This is a very good show and has a great cast and fun theme. Maybe you can go review reality shows that need a more informed palate such as your own.
Surviving Jack is hilariously funny, and Chris Meloni is great. As far as The Goldbergs being better, I’ve watched every episode so far and Surviving Jack beats it by far. I hope Surviving Jack survives the ratings wars.
Funniest sitcom of the year. But then I also loved Michael J. Fox’s show which was already cancelled.
I agree, and I was also a fan of Michael J. Fox’s show. And Dads, which seems to be gone as well. Lately every time I get into a show it gets cancelled. (I hope it’s not me?)
