It looks like the ride is over for Taxi Brooklyn. It’s been cancelled by NBC and won’t be returning for a second season this summer.
Taxi Brooklyn follows Cat Sullivan (Chyler Leigh), a tough NYPD Detective who doesn’t let a demotion to foot patrol stop her from trying to find her father’s killer. She finds an unlikely ally in Leo Romba (Jacky Ido), a taxi driver from Marseille. The rest of the cast includes James Colby, Jose Zuniga, Jennifer Esposito, Bill Heck, Ally Walker, and Raul Casso.
The series debuted last June 25th to an unimpressive 1.0 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 5.34 million viewers. The numbers didn’t improve over the course of the season which averaged a 0.9 rating in the demo and 5.0 million viewers.
The season finale of Taxi Brooklyn aired in September 2014 and there hasn’t been any official word from the network regarding the show’s fate. That’s certainly not a good sign, especially if viewers were hoping to see a second season this summer.
Late last year, executive producer Gary Scott Thompson indicated that things weren’t looking good and that they were “running out of time” — likely an indication that the cast contracts would soon expire. Earlier this year, he wrote that, “If history is any indication, we will probably never have official word” [on Taxi Brooklyn’s fate].
When reporting that Leigh had joined the pilot for Supergirl on CBS, TVLine noted that Taxi Brooklyn would not be returning to NBC for a second season.
NBC licensed the show from EuropaCorp Television so their costs are lower. EuropaCorp could potentially produce a second season and find another US outlet to air it but there’s been no word of that. Thompson has said that “it’s up to nbc.”
What do you think? Did you like the Taxi Brooklyn TV show? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a second season? Would you watch a second season on another channel?
Thats really to BAD they cancled the show. There normaly isant crap on the t.v. in the summer time but when you find one you like you stick with it. To baf the networks dpnt do that. Thats why i watch most of my shows on cable at least they give shows a chance!

NBC – what the…..???!!! I’m outside the range of whatever age to 49 because I’m an older geezer but I thoroughly enjoyed this show and so did some of the girls in my office. Really enjoyed the writing, directing, and actors. I’m disappointed yet another quality show does not come back for another season especially in the summer. Dagnabit!
damnit. it was so much fun. fantastic cliff hanger ending and no i have no answers. ill miss a fun, cute show that made me laugh.
Sad to read Brooklyn Taxi is cancelled, was looking forward to another season. It was one of the few shows that I would watch on NBC.
I hate that they cancelled the show. It’s unique and I was looking forward to season two. Please bring it back

I enjoyed it too, had a different concept, and what do they expect from a summer replacement in numbers? They are bringing the Welcome to Sweden back, I liked that also. This one deserves a second chance.
Es una lastima que se cancelara dicha serie soy cubano y acabo de terminar de verla y me gusto mucho
I love this show I hate that they cancelled it
Taxi Brooklyn should not be cut. Good interaction between Cat and Leo. Light hearted and drama for summer enjoyment.
I really enjoyed this program. I wish it were not being cancelled. Yes, I would absolutely watch this program on any channel.
Love taxi brooklyn want it back!
THIS IS WHY I CAN’T STAND WATCHING NEW SHOWS…THE NETWORKS WANTS MILLIONS OF VIEWERS AND NOT BE SATISFIED WITH THE HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS VIEWERS THEY HAVE! AS IF THOSE FOLKS (WE) DONT COUNT. KEEP IT UP AND SOON NO ONE WILL BE WATCHING TV
