Phil Keoghan is going to need to keep his passport up to date. He’ll need it for the next season of The Amazing Race. CBS has renewed the competition series for a 27th season which will air next fall.
On the (current) 26th cycle of The Amazing Race, a group of 11 dating couples — six in longstanding relationships while five have just met — race across the world, all in pursuit of a million dollar prize.
As one might expect, the ratings have come way down since The Amazing Race moved to Friday nights. The current cycle is averaging a 1.18 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 5.83 million viewers. That’s down by 33% in the demo and down by 26% in viewership.
Still, those numbers aren’t bad for a Friday night series and Amazing Race provides a solid lead-in for Hawaii Five-0 and Blue Bloods (both of which have also been renewed).
What do you think? Are you still watching The Amazing Race on CBS? Do you watch on Friday nights?
We will watch The Amazing Race on Friday nights because that is when it is on. We’d rather watch it on Tuesday or Wednesday nights because we are usually out doing stuff on Friday nights but always try to make It home in time for The Amazing Race!!! Love it!!!
