To no surprise, ABC has pulled its very low-rated mini-series The Assets from the Thursday lineup.
For the next three weeks, the 10pm timeslot will be filled by Shark Tank reruns. It’s unclear what will fill the timeslot after that. Scandal is expected to return on February 27th.
It’s unclear what will become of the remaining six episodes of The Assets.
What do you think? Did you enjoy the series? Would you like to see the leftover episodes released online, on DVD as part of a full series set, or aired on Saturday nights?
I loved the show. Shame on you ABC.
I truly enjoyed the mini series and recorded it so my children could watch it later. I loved that it was a real story. Unlike the reality shows that do no provide any value. Shame on ABC.
I went to ABC.com and filed a complaint using the feedback button. Perhaps if enough people did this ABC would bring the series back even if they aired it on a different night. This site is not affiliated with ABC and they do not see our complaints. I urge people to go to ABC’s site and do this so they will know that there are a lot of people unhappy about the cancelation . It is unfair to leave the viewers hanging after airing only 2 episodes. The series is already made and in the can. I am so sick… Read more »
Please put “The Assets” out as a DVD. It merits at least that much respect. Too bad history is “so boring.”
Finally find a program with a storyline.what do you do? Bore me with more mindless programs.
Really? Finally something worth watching and it gets cancelled before it is even 1/4 of the way through. ABC no wonder you suck. More brainless reality crap…. Sorry I turned your sorry % channel on…. Should have known better
I hate reality TV, I loved the mini Series. I am a fan of PBS, the History channel and BIO channel. I thought there was finally something of interest on a network channel. I want the rest of the series to aire.
I’m disappointed but not surprised ABC doesn’t have the guts to ride out something new– especially when it’s a limited run series in the first place, between sweeps. It seems pretty fundamental that programming decisions should include some consideration for ENVIRONMENT— that is, this show probably would have survived on CBS, but the shallow 18-34s are more into brainless reality crap and bed-hopping freak shows like “Scandal”. These are ABC’s specialty, so it’s questionable why they’d buy an eight-episode mini-series with some depth and respect for the audience’s intelligence, and throw it up against CBS’ powerful (if you’re over 50,… Read more »
Shame on you ABC! Really? You couldn’t air a mini series with some depth and a little historicle value? Feel free to keep jamming “reality” shows down the throats of the shallow minded masses. Long live ratings, the bottom line, and short attention spans! Keep it up, you’re finally meeting the criteria in becoming a second rate cable network. Two episodes? You must be proud.
I’ve been telling people at work how great “The Assets” was and that they should watch the ones they missed on ABC.com before seeing the next on-air episode.
Now, I have to tell them that ABC cancelled it.
If they don’t bring it back, I hope ABC puts the rest of the episodes on the website. This must be ABC’s way to make us keep going to the website over and over to check.
I liked it and wanted to see it all. I hate shark tank!!
I loved this show and am very sorry that it has been cancelled.
I agree with the other comments. These unreal ‘reality’ shows are ‘trashy’. I certainly hope people don’t really live and act that way. I was enjoying “Assets” and looking forward to the rest of the episodes. It was well-acted, based on truth, and compelling. I certainly hope all episodes will be presented in a DVD format or on TV as originally planned.
I was telling all my friends to watch, I loved the show. I can’t believe they cancelled it for sharks, I’m sick reality shows.
I thought I was losing my mind. Why do they have a show on once or twice and then cancel it? People probably didn’t even know it was on. I forgot to watch the 1st one, saw the second one and then poof it was gone. I liked it and wanted to see it all. Why do they insist on reality crap shows!
I loved the show as well. What is wrong with a good spy show? We got enough cop shows.
