FOX is bringing back The Finder quicker than expected. The network is delaying the premiere of Hotel Hell until summer and are using the Friday 8pm timeslot for the unaired episodes of the drama.
It had been announced that the Bones spin-off would have its spring finale next week, on March 8th. The Finder has been a ratings disappointment and it was unclear when or if the show would return. Now, FOX has decided to shift it to little-watched Friday nights starting April 6th. There will be six original episodes left at that point.
The season to date has averaged a 2.2 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 6.63 million total viewers. Despite having a big lead-in like American Idol, The Finder is the second lowest-rated drama on the network, beating only Fringe. It looks likely that the freshman series will be cancelled after just one season.
HOT FROM FOX…
“THE FINDER” MOVES TO FRIDAYS ON APRIL 6 WITH AN ALL-NEW EPISODE FEATURING CURTIS “50 CENT” JACKSON
THE FINDER’s Last Thursday Night Episode Airs March 8
After its final Thursday night episode on March 8 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT), THE FINDER will move to Fridays starting April 6 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.
Don’t miss THE FINDER’s last Thursday episode on March 8 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT), in which Walter (Geoff Stults) searches for a teenage girl who goes missing during an intense storm. Meanwhile, Isabel (Mercedes Masohn) uncovers clues that link the girl’s disappearance to foul play and Willa’s (Maddie Hasson) probation officer puts her differences with Willa aside to join in the search.
Then, THE FINDER makes its time period premiere on Friday, April 6 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT). The episode features Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson as music mogul Big Glade, who enlists Walter’s help in finding the source of illegally released songs. Big Glade’s business savvy lawyer (guest star Salli Richardson-Whitfield) is also Leo’s (Michael Clarke Duncan) former love interest, and the two rekindle their romance.
[EDITOR’S NOTE: HOTEL HELL will premiere this summer.]
What do you think? Do you think this move confirms that The Finder will be cancelled or is this like a second chance for the struggling series?

I loved this show. I still do. The ending of episode 13 feels off. Of course, the actor playing Leo died a few months later, so even if they brought it back it wouldn’t have been the same.
I just watched The Finder on net flix…..why was it not brought back? a good clean show like that deserves a spot on any network to dumb down all the crap that seems to stick like crap….and stink….what about making it a net flix original….at least on net flix I get to choose what I want to watch and I want to see more of the Finder.
Just discovered this series on Netflix and am hooked! I hate that it was canceled.
It’s obvious why you pushed Bones and buried Finder. Bones is ****** and politically correct and makes the man look like an idiot and the woman is positioned to look like the hero. (She fails) Finder has morals. (That alone is enough reason for you to kill it.) Finder is creative, has great music, demands attention to get the whole effect but even a partial effect is better than Bones, and the characters are multi-faceted and more realistic than Bones’ jerks. And HOUSE?!?! I just looked above on this page and found out you pushed Bones and House! Whoever is… Read more »
Found the Finder on Netflix and loved the _first season but we were left up in the air after the final episode in season 1.
It would be nice if they could bring it back and _find a replacement for Leo…often series are cancelled without giving them a new time or day…maybe a summer show..or more advertising. Good clean shows are hard to find.
The Finder is a wonderful show. Doesn’t have bad language or lots of violence. I hope Fox reconsiders, replaces Leo and renews the show. At least there will be something out there that’s decent to watch.
Just found it on nextflix and fell in love with it. Sad that there are no plans for additional show. Loved the first season.
i just started watching net flex and found the series the finder. i am hooked. it has humor and interesting problem solving using science, math, music other innovative options. i am not watching much regular tv. so much garbage. reality shows, and stuff children should not watch. sarcastic material stuffed into programs that demean others has reached a high level and it is not enjoyable.
Just found this show on Netflix. Hooked instantly and never heard of it. Putting it on after American Idol was suppose to help? Who watches that show?
Bones makes it 9 seasons, the finder which is fantastic right up there with bones, fails because why? True fans, can’t stand all the commercials and we wait for the DVD releases. So many idiotic mistakes mad e by so called tv Eric’s, The finder, Firefly, dollhouse and so many more. Most watchers use DVRs which don’t count on their watched ratings, but do they think of that, no. I have completely stopped watching network tv because of the asinine behavior of these studio yes people, making choices based on mind numbing shows. Scripted reality shows are shoved down watchers… Read more »
Great to see The Finder back!!!!
I really really loved this show. I didn’t know that they have their own show. I just saw it on Netflix when I was watching bones. I got hooked by it, I even watched the whole episode in one day. And I need to Google it why its cancelled. Please please please we need more episodes of the finder pretty please
It seems that truly original shows don’t make , unfortunately.
The trash that does make it makes me wonder about the viewers really……fake reality shows make me want to vomit
