After spending many years on ER, Julianna Margulies left life as a series regular 10 years ago. She went on to guest roles on shows like The Sopranos and returned to weekly television as the star of FOX’s Canterbury’s Law. The legal drama only lasted six episodes. She tried the genre again this season on CBS and has had much better luck.
The Good Wife revolves around the wife (Margulies) of a disgraced State Attorney (Chris Noth). She returns to work to rebuild her reputation and provide for her children. The series also stars Matt Czuchry, Archie Panjabi, Graham Phillips, Makenzie Vega, Mary Beth Peil, Josh Charles, and Christine Baranski.
The series has the plum spot on the schedule following the very successful NCIS: Los Angeles. Good Wife debuted to 13.71 million viewers and a 3.1 rating in the 18-49 demographic. Those numbers slipped a bit over the following weeks but have been rising again. The most reason installment attracted 13.70 million viewers and a 3.0 rating.
To no surprise, CBS has renewed Good Wife for season two. The network hasn’t specified an episode order but it’s expected to be a full season of 22-24 installments.
What do you think? Is Good Wife worth watching? Where would you like to see it go for season two?

I love the film! Thank you for renewing season two. I can’t wait to watch it…The Good Wife is realistic while also an inspiration. The movie/story has so much more potential..
I like taht show very much and I’m happy that there will be a second season
this is one super show that should not be pulled off the air – for the past 10 years I have only been watching news, PBS Masterpiece Theatre and now I finally have a series that is enjoyable, intelligent and has great acting – keep up the good work!
i love the good wife. i haven t watch a series for a long time . what im not happy is we have been watching reruns. is that all for this year .i am very dissapointed
I love this show! I look forward to each episode. It’s surely my favorite of anything on TV. Please, continue with this great entertainment in 2010 and for as long as possible. I will be very sad when it’s ever dropped from viewing. Margulies is so cool and poised in her character. She’s great!
Best show on TV. Probably could have used a diffeent name as the men all thought that it was just a “chick” show. The whole ensemble is great and I thoroughly enjoy every episode.
The Good Wife is a great show and deserves another season! Margulies has always been a favorite of mine – such a natural talent. The writing is super, and I can’t wait to see what the next episode brings. Great writing, great acting, great show, one of the best.
Love this show! Margulies gives a knock-out performance each episode,as does Noth. Would love to see expanded roles for Punjabi (a real scene stealer) and Baranski.
I love the good wife. However because of the time I wouldn’t have gotten to watch it if I didn’t have DVR. I’m so glad they are keeping it on.
I love “The Good Wife”. It is about time that CBS has had a good one hour drama. I hope it stays for a long time.
… are you sure about Duff starring there? didn’t see her nor is she credited
@Astrid: Thanks for the catch. It was an editing error.
This show is fantastic. I can’ t hardly wait for the next episode! THANKS for renewing this for Season 2- there is so much potential for this story. Way to go, Julianna!
LOVE the show…way better and more clever than Canterbury. Can’t wait to see what she decides to do with hubby…Will….what the kids will do..mother in law even…and GREAT chemistry with Chris North – very intense there….Not a predictable hour – always a twist or two and a laugh as well as a knot…well done.
a great come back for Julianna …the good wife really fits for her and definetely to renew for season 2.
definetly renew the good wife best show on tv, entire cast great especially julianna
It is one of my favorite show. In “The Good Wife” the actress,Julianna Margules, that portrays her ,gives women a chance to look intellegent as a working Mother. She even shows respect for her Mother-in law and that would be hard to do at that particular tme in her life but it also shows her children that she is doing the best she can under these stickey situations. She reallizes the children love their Dad and to be around their Grand-Mother is important forthe family as a whole.
Keep going, girl! We are all learning!
