You know that old line about “Please, don’t shoot the messenger”? Well, The CW has done just that. The network has cancelled The Messengers after one season. Only three episodes have aired thus far.
On The Messengers TV show, a mysterious object plummets to Earth and explodes in a blinding flash. It sends out a shock wave that instantly connects five strangers. They receive extraordinary gifts, from inexplicable strength to the ability to heal others. The cast includes Shantel VanSanten, Jon Fletcher, Sofia Black-D’Elia, J. D. Pardo, Joel Courtney, Anna Diop, and Diogo Morgado.
The move to cancel the series doesn’t come as much of a surprise. The Messengers has performed quite poorly so far, even for a Friday night show. Last week’s installment hit a new low with just 650,000 viewers and a 0.2 rating in the 18-49 demographic.
For now, it looks like the series will stay on the air to finish out its run of 13 total episodes.

hmmm Not sure why it is that so many really good shows have ended. I watched the whole series in two days. I was just getting into the religious hints and fascinating by the story line. I was hoping that 8in 2nd series it would have been revealed the trick with the upside down faces and that amy was not the antichrist. Eliza would have saw that and said so. I have been watching the messengers on Netflix and It is one of THE BEST SHOWS I’ve seen in while. I wish it would continue!
I watched it on Netflix and could not stop watching it till I got to the end. It was very interesting. WOULD LIKE TO SEE SEASON 2 if there is one made.
I found it on NETFlix also, had no idea it was on a network station. The show was awesome, I hope someone else picks it up and continues the series.
I found this on Netflix and just finished it today. This was a great show that I wished didn’t get cancelled. Bring it back for those who like it.
Just discovered this show on Netflix. Not a big fan of the cw but this show was actually beautifully refreshing amongst cop dramas and zombies. Very sad they won’t at least sign on for one more season or Netflix hasn’t picked it up to give closure to the viewers that watched it on TV or found it after on Netflix.
Yeah I agree. I found it on Netflix too and this is a good show. oh well I guess they will out on another reality show in it’s place. Maybe a group of c list stars will take over a call center or something…..
Found the show on Netflix-must not have been very well advertised:/ LOVED it! So sad it won’t be renewed! Maybe someone else should pick it up?

I think the people who are calling the shots are idiots they don’t recognise a hit show when they have one. Don’t be a fool CW you have a hit here take advantage of it.

I am not a true believer of God, but this is a good show. Shouldn’t cancel it. Please have a second thought.
