With House having ended last season, FOX is trying to fill Mondays at 9pm with a different medical drama, The Mob Doctor. Will this new TV show last as long as the Hugh Laurie series? Will it be quickly cancelled, a moderate success, or a big hit?
The Mob Doctor revolves around a brilliant young female cardiothoracic surgeon who must serve two masters. Officially, she’s a top resident at Chicago’s Roosevelt Medical Center. Secretly, she’s a mob doctor who’s working off the debt of her younger brother’s gambling debts. How long can she keep these two worlds apart?
The TV show’s cast includes Jordana Spiro, Floriana Lima, Zach Gilford, Željko Ivanek, Wendy Makkena, Jesse Lee Soffer, William Forsythe, James Carpinello, and Michael Rappaport.
Once the other networks have their shows in place, The Mob Doctor will have tough competition; airing opposite ABC’s Dancing with the Stars, Gossip Girl on The CW, The Voice on NBC, and 2 Broke Girls and Mike & Molly on CBS. FOX has ordered 13 episodes of Mob Doctor to start.
Before you share your opinion below, here are some previews:
So, what do you think? Does The Mob Doctor look like a hit or a candidate for quick cancellation? Will you tune in, DVR the show, or skip it altogether? Do you think previewing and releasing the first episode online will help or hurt the show’s ratings?
this is a great show…i’m really confused on the low ratings. The show is unique and eye catching. I think the show should air with more episodes….I like ”The Mob Doctor”
