While Mr. Selfridge has supposedly been renewed, BBC1 has pulled the plug on The Paradise. There won’t be a third season for the period drama.
The Paradise revolves around the people who work and shop at the first English department store. Set in 1875, castmembers have included Emun Elliott, Joanna Vanderham, Elaine Cassidy, Sarah Lancashire, Matthew McNulty, Peter Wight, David Hayman, Stephen Wight, Sonya Cassidy, Ruby Bentall, Finn Burridge, and Patrick Malahide.
Of the cancellation, a BBC spokesperson said, “We are incredibly proud to have made two successful series of period drama The Paradise for BBC1. However, in order to make room for new dramas to come through, The Paradise won’t be returning.”
The show airs on PBS here in the US and only the first season has been shown. That ended in November and there’s been no word of airing the second season yet.

This is one of the best shows on tv. Please bring it back. The characters are so believable and the story line is terrific. I can’t believe you would cancel this show.

Just finished series 2 on Netflix…..learn there is no series 3 …….wished there was……it was a great series.
Please re consider bringing season 3 to the paradise. We love it!!

I loved “The Paradise” and I’m sorry it’s been cancelled. I loved seeing all the accessories and fine goods from that period in time as the backdrop for the many dramas that played out.
We love this show and would love to see it return. Please reconsider dropping this drama, it is wonderful.
So disappointed. This series had everything. The strong woman character, the period where everything was tabu,, the handsome man, the competition, the pretty things, and the friendship. Please Pleas bring it back.

I want to see mr. Moray and miss. Denise being happily married! Don’t stop with ‘ the Paradise’ serie. I love the characters and the costumes.

I think this was one of the best shows on pbs bbc. I love love this show.
