ABC hasn’t had much luck launching a new reality show in quite some time so they tried something different this time — The Quest. Is it a ratings success? Will it be renewed for a second season or, will it be cancelled instead?
On The Quest, a dozen everyday people are transported to a fantasy world called Everealm where they have adventures and compete to be the last “true hero” remaining. The cast includes Peter Windhofer, Jan Hutter, Marcello de Nardo, Susanne Gschwendtner, Stephanie Buddenbrock, Florence Kasumba, Mai Duong Kieu, and Doug Tait.
The show debuted at the end of July to a 0.7 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 2.82 million viewers. It was a very poor start — even for a summer series — and the numbers have gotten worse as the weeks have gone by.

The season currently averages a paltry 0.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 1.96 million viewers. That’s worse than Sing Your Face Off, a celebrity reality show that was burned off on Saturday nights in June.
To be fair, The Quest has had to compete with football games in some markets and has also been preempted by games on some local ABC stations. The ratings are still very, very low however and the network knew that the series would be interrupted when they scheduled it — a sign that they probably had no faith in it.
In the end, it’s highly unlikely that ABC will want to take a chance on ordering a second season of The Quest.

Totally renew it !, It is the best reality show I have seen even above Survivor and Amazing race . What was it pitted against on the other channels ?
I never heard of it till I found it on Netflix JAN 2016 ?!! I’m 66 years old.
i think they should keep it its so different but in a good way and i think a lot of people who like LOTR, The Hobbit, and Game of Thrones would love to compete in the series! I know that when i was a kid watching movies about fantasy’s and middle earth, that i would always dream about being in one! I just think that The Quest need at least one more try!!
and another thing that i forgot to put down , but was the most important part, was that while this series (The Quest) was airing, my family and I would plan a “feast” of sorts to go along with the series. We would buy, wedges of cheese and bread rolls and have cider, ale, we would even buy pies, and present the table to look like the renaissance/ medieval tables in movies!! it was the most fun ever watching this show, and we never went all out like that with any other show. Thus far, we’ve loved it. It’s a reality show we can actually get into and watch. For once, I care about the outcome. After all it’s not about who’s getting laid or getting the most money. It’s about who will be a hero and save the kingdom. Love it! Additionally, the few episodes I’ve watched of other, far less interesting, reality shows are so back biting and nasty. Me too. If I was younger, I’d go for it. My niece and nephews want to do it.
This was fantastic family entertainment. We looked forward to each episode with excitement and, if we couldn’t be home, we made sure to DVR it. There is so little true family entertainment out there. Please keep this wonderful show.
