ABC Family has decided to cancel their long-running TV series, The Secret Life of the American Teenager, after five seasons on the air. While there won’t be a sixth season, there’s still more to come.
Created by Brenda Hampton, Secret Life revolves around the relationships between families and friends and how they deal with unexpected pregnancies. Castmembers include Shailene Woodley, Kenny Baumann, Francia Raisa, Daren Kagasoff, Greg Finley, Megan Park, India Eisley, Molly Ringwald, Mark Derwin, Michael Grant, and Cierra Ramirez.
Debuting in 2008, Secret Life became ABC Family’s first hit scripted series and paved the way for future successes like Pretty Little Liars.

The ratings have come down over the years. To date, the fifth season has averaged a 0.7 rating in the 18-49 demgraphic with 1.38 million viewers. Still, it remains one of ABC Family’s highest-rated series.
While the show is ending, there are still 13 installments to come. A holiday episode is slated for November 19th and the dozen final installments will start airing next March. By the end, there will be 121 episodes of Secret Life.
Hampton called the series regulars to break the news. It’s unknown if the final episode will give the show some closure, end on a cliffhanger, or simply be open-ended.

They need to put it back on Netflix. My mom and I loved the show. Needs to continue with the seasons. It was in my eyes full of trials and tribulations that were helpful with real stuff that goes on in real life highschool. I just absolutely loved “The Secret Life Of the American Teenager”. My favorite characters were Amy, her little sister, and her mom”. Not trying to write a book here though. Thankyou.
It seems like whenever there’s a good show that everyone enjoys either the writer or the network seems to cancel to the show for no apparent reason. the fans are the viewers and want they say should go
it would make a lot more since the end it with a bang.
Need to have more season it can just end like that.

I love this show……………I’m not happy it is ending. Ricky and Amy should get married. I really wanted to see her in that vintage wedding gown. I bet she really would look great in it.
I love this show it was very heart touching it brought tears to my eyes on many episodes and also brought a smile to my face. I was hoping to she Ricky and Amy get married. All all the characters in this show made it all seem so real. This show couldn’t had better actors I’m really hoping they come back with a season six and can’t wait to see how it turns out. And I really would like to see Amy and Ricky together and happily married.
Ricki And Amy realize their love for each other and amy runs home and they get married for real and Ben and Adrian fall in love after all they been through and realizes they needed each other madison and jack run into each other and grace and grant work at the same hospital
I think they should have a season 6 because the tv show is good. Different secret and its the best show I ever seen. I just don’t want the show to end.
I think that should have made a season six because they should’ve shown how Everybody’s life has changed and I wanted them also to show when Amy and Ricky Git married and live happily ever! Make a season six ! pls you are going to break a lot of people heart if hey haven’t watch it yet!! The show is the best, I would want to watch it over and over again and that’s how much I liked it!! Amy and Ricky were great actors in the whole tv serious!! John was so cute!!
Come on really?? They going to leave and cancelled the last episode with Amy and Ricky call off the wedding and she leaves him and John behind? I mean it’s such a relief that she broke it off. I hope she goes back with Ben. They belong together. Plus Ben is a bit of romantic. She should return back. But I guess we won’t never know NOW since the show been cut off. I’m really I’m sad and disappointed

This show is the best show ever. Ricky and Amy are meant for each other not just from John, they just have a connection and Ben needs to find someone else . Adrian is perfect with Omar. I hate how Amy and Ricky aren’t having the wedding. I think Ricky should transfer colleges in New York so Amy can go to college and John and Ricky will be there with her . My option..
I think the ending was really lame Adrian dose not look good with Omar he sucks in the show she’s looks better with ricky the have from the beginning amy and Ben are perfect together they complete each other and shaline woodley is not to old to play the shoe she looks 19 today 2016.
