What were you watching last night? Original network programming, reruns, cable, or something else?
I have watched every episode of Gracepoint and have watched Broadchurch no less than eight times. The cast of Gracepoint has done a superb job. In some areas of the script the acting has been stronger. I love the show and when it concludes will gladly add to my DVD collection. From Tennants bitter anger over a betrayal that we know he suffered, to Beth Solano’s betrayal by a man she trusted implicitly, the little eye flicks, to twitching of their hands, it is superb. I can say that without one bit of guilty. Gracepoint was placed in a suicide… Read more »
Gracepoint picks up nearly 50% more viewers on 3-day streaming so these figures are misleading. Of course it doesn’t help that some butthurt childish Broadchurch fans that have a false sense of ownership think they have to attack Gracepoint all over the net because in their tiny, twisted little anglophile-saturated brains they think that the existence of Gracepoint somehow hurts Broadchurch. Gracepoint is better than Broadchurch in some ways. Production values are higher, the plot is richer for exploring characters more in-depth and the forensics are better by far. David had Meryl Streep’s voice coach and his accent is fine.… Read more »
i like how to get away of murder is a good show but the rest of it is not so good…..
Why is Fox still keeping Gracepoint? I gave up on it last week and I see this week it has plummeted further. It’s already the worst performing drama of the new Fall shows. Glad to see the American public has some taste and aren’t fooled into accepting these leftovers from a better British show. I imagine Fox will have to pull this now and run the rest of the episodes at another time. Shouldn’t hurt Anna Gunn’s career though as so few people are watching this anyway that it will be forgotten about fairly quickly except for the Worst Of… Read more »
Limited run series they probably already paid for. might just as well burn off the episodes.
True. I guess they’ll burn it off on a non-ratings period if they are contractually committed to showing all 10 episodes. Does make you wonder how they let this through to full series, though. Anyone looking at the first episode coukd have seen the huge flaws. David Tennant’s laughbly bad accent aside, the whole thing is just so sloooow and duuuull. Even a good actor like Anna Gunn couldn’t save this dog.
Gracepoint episodes always rise by nearly 50% on later viewings via on demand, Hulu and the network’s site. It has a stronger following than you think. I can tell you’re one of those fans that have embarrassed the Broadchurch fandom with your uncalled-for vitriol because you’re hurt the series was made. Too bad. In some ways Gracepoint is actually better. I should know, I have Broadchurch memorized by now.
The Biggest Loser, Bad Judge and How To Get Away With Murder
The only show I will watch Thursdays: Gracepoint.
At least it makes you think and watch things carefully.
And it’s only one of two shows my spouse will watch, so it must be doing something right.
If only Marry Me and A to Z would’ve been a great fit for NBC’s hour long comedy block and not Bad Judge. Only 13 days left before CBS’ Thursday night line up is back to normal.
* Bones, Reign, and How to Get Away with Murder *
To RBECK…. you never make comments… are you trying to tell us you like the shows you mention? Or you don’t like those shows? Which is it? I do watch Gracepoint, and do agree that it’s very draggy…. But now I’m hooked. Also, I love PARENTHOOD & hate to see it end!
