Thursday, October 25, 2012 ratings — New episodes: The Big Bang Theory, Last Resort, 30 Rock, The Vampire Diaries, Two and a Half Men, Up All Night, Person of Interest, Grey’s Anatomy, The Office, Beauty and the Beast, Parks and Recreation, Elementary, Scandal, and Rock Center with Brian Williams. Sports or specials: Game two of the World Series.
On CBS, The Big Bang Theory was the winner of the night once again with a 4.8 rating (0% change week-to-week) in the 18-49 demographic and 15.4 million total viewers. Two and a Half Men dropped 8% in the demo to a 3.7 rating with 12.9 million.
At 9pm, Person of Interest attracted a 3.0 rating (+7%) with 14.0 million and Elementary garnered a 2.2 rating (-4%) with 10.2 million.
On ABC, there was bad news for Last Resort which drew a 1.3 rating (-19% week-to-week) and 6.4 million viewers. Could this be the first ABC show of the season to be cancelled?
Grey’s Anatomy followed with a 2.9 rating (-15% week-to-week) and 8.5 million and Scandal brought in a 2.0 rating (+5%) with 6.3 million.
On NBC, 30 Rock attracted a 1.3 demo rating (+8% week-to-week change) with 3.6 million viewers. Up All Night followed with a 1.6 rating (+23%) and 3.9 million.
At 9pm, The Office attracted a 2.1 rating (0% change) with 4.7 million. Parks and Recreation then drew a 1.9 rating (+19%) with 4.1 million. The night was capped with Rock Center with Brian Williams and a 1.3 rating (+44%) with 4.3 million.
*Note: the NFL game was simmulcast on NBC in Minneapolis so this probably artificially inflated NBC’s TV show numbers. They’ll likely fall in the finals.
On The CW, The Vampire Diaries dropped slightly with a 1.2 demo rating (-8% week-to-week change) and 2.7 million viewers. Beauty and the Beast held steady with a 0.7 rating and 1.9 million.
On FOX, we had the second game of the World Series (San Francisco vs. Detroit) with a 2.9 rating and 10.2 million viewers.
What do you think? Do you think Last Resort will keep falling? Has Beauty and the Beast stabilized? What were you watching last night?
Unfortunately, you and I don’t count as viewers. If you are not watching at air time you don’t watch the commercials and that’s what the ratings are for. They pay for the program and don’t care how many like the show, just care about who sees the ads. Low viewers on Monday night, no more money to pay for it. They need to find a new way to fund programming.

I really like Person fo Interest. I am also happy with the new show Elementary. Most of the shows that I watch are on CBS. Cable channel TNT is second runner up. NBC is down the list. Every time they have a show I really like they cancel it.
