Would the life of police officer Allison McLean get a little less hectic in season two of the Ties The Bind TV show? We’ll never know. UP has cancelled the drama after one season of 10 episodes.
This dramatic series revolves around a tough and experienced female police officer from Seattle, played by Kelli Williams. Like most working women, Allison McLean’s hands are already full, balancing a demanding and dangerous job and a family — husband Matt (Jonathan Scarfe), and teenagers Jeff (Mitchell Kummen) and Rachel (Natasha Calis). She and her partner, Devin (Dion Johnstone), must arrest her brother, Tim (Luke Perry), for aggravated assault. As a result, her world drastically changes. The rest of the cast includes Matreya Scarrwener, Rhys Matthew Bond, Lucia Walters, and Aaron Craven.
The series debuted in August 2015 and the 10 episodes finished airing in October. The cable channel was apparently considering ordering a second season but earlier this year, they decided not to do so. A message on the show’s Facebook page notes:
After thoughtful consideration, UP has decided to not renew “Ties That Bind.” The decision was not made lightly as we appreciate our passionate viewers who were not ready for the story to end. We want to thank the cast and crew for their tremendous dedication. Your commitment to this series was extraordinary.
What do you think? Did you enjoy this cop drama? Should it have been cancelled? Would you have watched a second season of Ties That Bind on UP?
I ABSOLUTELY would have watched & am very disappointed that it has been cancelled!!!!
I was really looking forward to season 2
I loved this show and couldn’t wait for season 2 and now finding out it has been canceled, up has lost my viewing, since I won’t watch up again.
Loved this show. It deserved a second season, if for nothing else, to resolve the issues surround Cam’s disappearance and how Jackie adjusts to being back home.
I just subscribed to UP specifically to watch Ties That Bind. It’s an awesome show and I don’t understand why you cancelled it. It seems like the perfect show for your network. I think I may have to cancel my subscription.
Really annoyed to find out there isn’t a season 2 coming out I’ve only just finished watching and I have so many questions e.g where did Cameron run off to? Will Tim ever get out of prison? Will Cameron mum go back to rehab?
that show only had a Average of 113,000 viewers ups goal is 150,000. its bad when Gilmore girls, 7th heaven, super nanny beat it and there reruns. cable networks depend on ratings for sponsors. that show was a great plot, poorly acted and written.
Yeah, that’s a shame, isn’t it?!i can’t stand the Nanny or shows of its ilk…
Maybe just maybe if shows like Ties That Bind stayed on the air, you wouldn’t need self help shows like supernanny. She’s annoying. It upsets me when these so called Christian channels listen more to executives and pollsters rather than actual fans. You guys really need to reevaluate your process of elimination. Mist of what you show myself and family cannot stand. E wry time you get that jewel of a show you cancel it. Don’t understand it. Thank goodness for the internet.
I’m not only talking about UP but Hallmark, Hallmark Murders & Mysteries, and any number of other channels….I am soooo tired of good shows coming on a network, I get totally engrossed in it and it’s cancelled with no explanation or completion of the storyline. And disgusting shows with no intergrity or morals at all are kept on. I don’t understand.
I can’t believe that this show was cancelled. I was really looking forward to finding out where Cameron ran off to and if they find him or not.
I can’t believe they canceled it and ended it like they did. I was really looking forward to finding out where Cameron ran off to and if they find him.
I can’t believe u canceled it and ended it like that I wanted to find out where Cameron ran off to and if they find him
I loved this show me and my boyfriend looked forward to watching every week. We kept looking it up to see of there is a season two coming on.whoever makes this decision must not have been thinking. And was there a good reasons why ?
I truly don’t understand. After all of the Heartland seasons, you decide not to buy the remaining seasons. Now you cancel Ties that Bind. You leave stupid shows like Bringing Up Bates on.
Upset to see this show was cancelled, it was the only show I looked forward to seeing every week, I dislike most other shows on tv especially reality!
