Tyrant was cancelled after just three seasons on FX, and the reasons behind the shocking cancellation have now been revealed. Bert Salke, the FOX 21 President, spoke about those reasons with The Hollywood Reporter.
Salke said the following:
“We knew after the second year and were really aware that for a show we felt so strongly about — and the fan base felt so strongly about — that the numbers weren’t commensurate with the base for the show. Nobody was more aware than the FX people and John wanted to get in front of it. Chris, Howard and the studio went in with very open eyes and hoping for the best. We were getting behind it the same way we do every year and preparing for any number of outcomes. There were no surprises.”
There is hope that the series will return. Tyrant is being actively shopped to streaming services. It could land on Netflix or Hulu.

A 4th season would be great. The show, although fictional gave insight into the world of the middle east.
What was the point of 3 seasons and leaving us with nothing ! This was the best show and we want more seasons please !!!

I was very disappointed when I found out there would be no season 4 of tyrant.
I am streaming now on Hulu. WHAT DO YOU MEAN NO SEASON FOUR! You can’t just leave us all hanging out there with our own thoughts on what will or will not happen to bring closure to this really well written, well acted piece of work. You owe us a resolve.
Please do a season 4, as you have left it open, not knowing what is going to happen next. I’m sure I’m not the only one who thinks that there should be another season. Please please.

IT is so real that a conclusion has to come or am I being too naive
Ridiculous how we the people who pay for HULU, Netflix, Prime Video etc., etc. don’t get a vote. Like so many others shows you’ve canceled, and left us to our own imagination for an ending, Tyrant was one of the better ones. Sad that we are forced rely on others to make the choice for us.
