Last season, the Live + same day ratings for Once Upon a Time dropped more 30% on ABC. Can the series recover? It’s tough to attract new viewers when a show like this one has so many characters and such a complex back story. Could this fantasy drama be cancelled or will it be renewed for a seventh season? Stay tuned.
Once Upon a Time follows the continuing adventures of fairytale characters whose tales unfold between their storybook world and Storybrooke, a small town in Maine. This season, the good guys will have to contend with inhabitants from the Land of Untold Stories and the return of the Evil Queen. The large cast includes Ginnifer Goodwin, Jennifer Morrison, Josh Dallas, Lana Parrilla, Emilie de Ravin, Colin O’Donoghue, Jared S. Gilmore, Rebecca Mader, and Robert Carlyle. Expected to recur are Beverley Elliott, Raphael Sbarge, David Anders, Jessy Schram, Tim Phillipps, Ingrid Torrance, Peter Marcin, Hank Harris, Sam Witwer, Tzi Ma, Gabrielle Rose, Kristin Bauer van Straten, and Agnes Bruckner.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — typically around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
5/15 update: You can see the rest of the latest night’s ratings.

Last year comparison: The fifth season of Once Upon a Time averaged a 1.37 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 4.40 million total viewers.
Note: These are the final national numbers (unless noted with an “*”). These are different from the fast affiliate numbers which are just estimates of the actual ratings. The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.
What do you think? Do you still like the Once Upon a Time TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a seventh season?
5/11 update: ABC has renewed Once Upon a Time for a seventh season. Details here.
Please just end with something good, Emma and hook end up together, Belle and Rumple too but just end it, its obvious that’s the best we can do.
The reason the show is losing viewers is because it is not popular anymore because of the crappy writing, the writing for this show started going downhill in the latter half of season 3 and it has gotten even worse ever since, whether you like it or not there are millions of people out there who don’t like this show anymore, who would rather do anything else with their Sunday evenings than watch this show now because it is quite simple nowhere near as good as it used to be.
Have you ever did a search on the show to see how many viewers are watching it? If you haven’t I suggest you do. The reason the show is losing viewers is because there are other shows on.
Cancel it, no good ever comes from dragging shows out when they are going down hill so fast, the writing is crap, the ratings have tanked and there are rumours of two of the mains RC and JMo leaving. Supernatural on the CW was dragged out for season after season and it turned to crap, please don’t do the same to OUAT.
I LOVE OUAT… But yes the quality has gone down. This season was one of the worst. A LOT of focus on Regina/EQ and not enough on SNOWING and CS. The show is about Emma Swan and her journey but for awhile now she and her story have been side lined. You can tell that in the promotion with whom they focus on. Which is obviously fine, but when you give too much to one character and not enough to the main characters, you do lose what originally made the audience tune in for. The story lines and plots are… Read more »
I think that Once should have a proper ending now in Season 6, and let the mess in what has turned lately aside with the condition of get a spin-off maybe taking the best characters of Once: Regina, Henry and write another suceful show of that. Regina is perfect for a spin off. Because the series are a repetetive mess that has lost that charming it had in Season 1 with Emma coming to SB by first time…Emma/Hook does not work. They are mágico characters separated, but together they don’t keep such sparks like they said. Is better an happy… Read more »
Time to call it quits for OUAT, things have gone too far for the show to recover now
It is obvious that the show has lost a great part of its magic. Season 5 was a mess, I had serious doubts it would make it to a new one, and I have to say that, even thouhgt I am happy is still here, this season is just wrong: we didn’t see any conflict with the people from the Land of Untold stories, they wrapped up Jekyll and Hyde’s plot in a couple of episodes, Jasmine and Aladdin were just pointless since day one and when I was certain there was going to be something merely good with the… Read more »
Cancel it, my fourite characters don’t need to be destroyed any further
Please don’t cancel this show! It’s amazing and I aswell as so many others love it. Please keep it going!
Don’t cancel I love the show I can’t keep my eyes off the screen please. If you are to delete the show don’t cancel it I want a full story.
OUAT has become a nightmare please cancel it.
Yes isn’t it? All those pilot with Zelena being pregnant of Robín, Refina and her doble ego, Montecristo (omg a Dumas chaarcter here wtf) killed for Regí, Belle and Rumple son…pfff what is this?
Cancel it Once has been awful since season 4 and I actually feel embarrassed and sorry for the actors who are being given such rubbish material to work with.
Once is dreadful now so I vote cancel.
The only way this show could be saved is if it went back to its season one basics which means Hook, Belle and Zelena would all have to go so that the writers could focus on the original main characters of the show, Belle is an idiot, Zelena should never have been brought back and Hook has no purpose nowadays except to be Emma’s lapdog, this show stinks, cancel it.
