Tavis Smiley isn’t leaving anytime soon. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the talk show host already has a new TV series after being dropped by PBS.
As reported earlier, PBS dropped Smiley’s self-titled talk show amid allegations of sexual misconduct. The long-running late-night series began in 2004 and featured interviews with notable entertainers, athletes, politicians, and authors, including Allison Janney, Laurie Metcalf, filmmaker Dee Rees, and Smokey Robinson.
Smiley’s new series, The Upside with Tavis Smiley, will stream on The Word Network. The talk show is expected to debut sometime this spring.
What do you think? Are you a fan of Tavis Smiley? Will you watch his new web series?
No & no
PBS was just mad that they had to dismiss Charlie Rose, so they purposely “misconstrued”, “twisted”, and “misrepresented” their “findings”. They “couldn’t”/wouldn’t provide the context of their “investigation”/witch hunt “conclusions.”
Thereby, not giving Tavis any way to defend himself against the “accusations.”
I will watch anything Tavis is on. I have been watching him since BET Tonight with Ed Gordon.
Looking forward to seeing your New Show
CONGRATULATIONS!!!
