Animal Planet is living the life. The Vet Life TV series premieres Saturday, June 4, 2016, at 9:00pm ET/PT. It was previously announced as Texas Vets.
Animal Planet says:
VETERINARIANS JUGGLE FAMILY, ANIMALS AND BUSINESS ON ANIMAL PLANET’S “THE VET LIFE” PREMIERING SATURDAY, JUNE 4 AT 9PM ET/PT
Equal parts laughter and drama, THE VET LIFE follows veterinarians, Dr. Diarra Blue, Dr. Aubrey Ross and Dr. Michael Lavigne, as they navigate the balancing act of running their newly-opened animal hospital while managing the everyday stress of raising their families alongside their wives. The series captures the doctors’ home life with their spouses, children, parents, in-laws, pets and large group of friends.
The three doctors developed a strong friendship while attending Tuskegee University’s College of Veterinary Medicine and reconvened in Las Vegas where they began their careers and honed their surgery skills. After years of paying their dues, they decided to fulfill their dreams of owning their own practice and set their sights on Dr. Ross’ hometown of Houston. In 2015, Cy-Fair Animal Hospital opened its doors to service the community and their pets.
The veterinarians are dedicated to providing the best care for their patients – both human and animal. Dr. Blue’s personality keeps them smiling and in good spirits while Dr. Ross keeps the clinic running during an often hectic work day. Dr. Lavigne is a skilled surgeon who provides balance. With a combined experience of over 22 years and a shared love of animals, Dr. Diarra Blue, Dr. Aubrey Ross and Dr. Michael Lavigne thrive to educate the public about the importance of preventative medicine in order to extend the longevity of the human animal bond.
What do you think? How do you like the sound of The Vet Life TV show? Do you think you’ll check out the series premiere?
Dr Blue is sooo funny …love all the Vets and the family interaction.
I really like this show…and the Vet’s personalities. Please keep it. It beats a lot of the other “junk” on TV. This show can be inspiring & informative to kids & people, in general. It can help teach people how to care for their pets, what’s good for them, what’s not, etc. Give the show a chance.
I would like to add that I am also against the breeders of Buttercup. They don’t seem to be professional breeders, but just looking to add to overpopulation and/or make some money.
Also – Please announce the importance of trimming nails. Jazzy the dachshund with the wheelchair was in desperate need of shorter nails. This can cause structure problems and arthritis.
Overall you guys are doing great and I love the rest.
I LOVE this show. It’s a great mix of animals and people without being too graphic in the procedures. Please watch this show and help it gain momentum. Great guys saving animals and giving back!
This is a breath of fresh air. With all the shows gone for the summer finding this show was wonderful. This show is a great show to get excited about during the summer!!! These doctors and their families are just a good example of good people!!! It’s really nice to see on TV. I have never wrote about a show before but this show is worth it!!
Please cover your mouth AND nose during a sterile procedure!! As a human ICU nurse, I’ve told many Intensivists, pulmonologists, and cardio thoracic MD’s/PA’s the same thing.
I like your show a lot but c’mon. Sterile procedure 101!!
Watched fir the first time tonight. Love it!
This show is so boring I can’t believe it. Why would I want to watch them all go to some expensive place to eat. Give us more Dr. Jeff, a real get and do vet. and send these lazy vets fannys down the road. What a joke this show is.
I liked this show until poor little Buttercup was on. The owners are show cased as such loving owners when you can clearly see not the condition of her breasts she has been used to produce many many puppies. She is a poor little angel that has been forced to have puppies for the owners to sell and make money from her misery. Shame on the vets who own this clinic. I have a beautiful little frenchie that was nothing more than a money maker for her former owner until she could no longer produce puppies. She had been used… Read more »
Oh no! I had a bad feeling when I saw that episode and didnt care for how the owners treated Buttercup, was surprised that the Dr didnt address the situation, but then I thought maybe after the cameras were off? So happy to know she is safe now and and can live out her days being a carefree pup.!!!!
Thank goodness you’re clairvoyant and knew all that from their 5 minutes on camera. I’d hate for you to judge them from their brief time time on tv.
I love this program!!! I have watched the program since its premiere.
I will not watch this show again if they showcase a breeder as in Episode 2. Buttercup’s owners state that they love her but have bred her not once, but twice. That means they have put her through multiple forced sex sessions (“r” word), 2 painful labors, 2 C- sections and 2 surgical recoveries. She is not a family member, but breeding machine and money maker. With hundreds of thousands of healthy, unwanted puppies euthanized in our shelters every year, there is no reason for me to watch ignorant people using animals to breed more for greed. I am sorry… Read more »
I have really enjoyed the episodes I have seen. I do hope these vets will use this opportunity to teach the general public the benefit of titer vs vaccinations and the dangers of over vaccinating cats and dogs.. It would also be beneficial to raise awareness that spaying and neutering (removing growth hormones) at an early age can cause skeletal problems for our beloved pets.
This is the 2nd episode I have watched and it will be the last. Too much home and family stuff and very little treating animals.
Agree can the family they are really annoying!
I would love to see this new vet show out of Houston! Looks like it will not only have expertise but lots of humor as well!
Yes I will definitely watch and follow the show. My son is in the Vet Tech program at Fort Valley State University in Fort Valley, Georgia. Just wish these guys were closer so he could volunteer.
